Potentially... We're still missing numbers 5 and 7, one of which is a 15. I think things might become more apparent when we have all the cards!
Managed to get a connection on the Welshcoastline. Had a trusted informer check the stamp and the number is 7, I also had an embossed rose.
Hi guys, I received my cards and envelope today as well. I added the info to the google docs as others have done. This is so exciting again! The postman must have scratched his head thinking who this "teryn" living in this address is but thankfully they, again, had dropped the envelope to my mail box. ^-^ The number behind the stamp isn't visible in the photo but i added it to the google docs.
Absolutely love these IRL interactions, hoping the dealer is showing a 6 so I can double down Purple Letter 4 & 5 of Clubs Number 1 under stamp
ok. Left_Sock's info changes things a little. His is 8. Using the line of reasoning of a query, that's out the window since it is now, at least, 11 digits. Assuming 15 is #5. 9919101541912
Hi... Speculation again from me here... looking for patterns as usual! Assumptions: The additions are represented as 2 digit numbers - i.e. 9 is viewed as 09, 4 is viewed as 04. Number 15 is indeed in place #5 This gives us two sets of dates: 09/09/1910 15/04/1912 Look at these two dates, this is the birth and death dates of Sidney Leslie Goodwin: Wikipedia summarises as follows: Sidney Leslie Goodwin (9 September 1910 – 15 April 1912) was a 19-month-old English boy who died during the sinking of the RMS Titanic. His unidentified body was recovered after the sinking by the Mackay-Bennett, and for decades referred to as the unknown child Again, just speculation, but coincidental. (EDIT: Not sure how this relates to any possible CROUPIERKEY though...)
I had an inspiration. A Croupier represents the "house", managing a game of chance. Imagine we are sitting at positions 1 thru 8 at a Blackjack table and the croupier dealt us these hands. The next thing that happens is we are asked if we want additional cards. Double & Split aside, the answer is binary Yes and No. Boolean Yes = 1, No = 0. From our dataset we have an 8 digit binary 11011101. I have no idea what I'd do with it tho. (Assume Konmael's 15 is in seat #5)
Now, consider Baccarat where, also, two cards are dealt to each hand. The initial scoring is we have 99905492. According to rules of Baccarat Punto Banco, the binary would be 00011101, odd that there are so many "natural 9" hands and so few 0 hands. Again, assuming Konmael's 5 is in seat #5. edit, oops. i forgot that there is only one seat at a Baccarat Table, so these would be successive hands #1 thru #8
Received a grey envelope with a 6 hidden behind the stamp. Contents consist of two playing cards, both a 2 of hearts of the same make of card as received by others.
Just adding mine now... Number 8 under the stamp, and of course 2 cards adding up to 12 (2 of hearts, Jack of Hearts). UPdating the shared doc.
I thought that maybe the initials of the cards for each set of numbers might lead to something, but can't see anything. I added a couple of columns for the two possible combinations per hand and thought taking the highest card in each hand as the "correct" combination for that pairing would lead to something but again, can't see anything obvious. (The red text is to indicate a red suit - although there is one hand that is both a red and black card so have left it black) I know that there is more cards to come, but we have 21 people with cards now, so thought that we might at least be able to work out something. The date theory is still strong, it just feels such a simple solution to a (deceptively?) complex cipher!
Yeah Tutsie, I agree I really can't see it being a date thing, I think it's just coincidental. Just posted it as it was an interesting aside. I think we need to wait to see what comes from here, but I can't help but feel we have all the 'sets' of 2 cards now (1-8), although verification on set number 5 would be useful
I thought about it, and think, we are again getting ahead of ourselves here. The cryptobin message clearly states that the croupiercode is being used for further reports, to be encode with the croupierkey. For me, the croupiercode is the name of this procedure, sending the key via mail to different agents, exactly like the cascade7 messages. Just the other way around, first the key, then the message. The blackjack-sum theory makes the most sense for me, as it is redundant against single letters being intercepted, easy to figure out, and just works well with the numbers behind the stamps. I just don't think we got the report to encode yet, either because dispatch wants to wait for all the cards to arrive and the code to be ready when the first report heads out, or dispatch doesn't know anything we should know yet. Or dispatch has been destroyed in the attack, who knows. But again, i could be totally wrong here. What's with the different colours? backup in case we missed the stamp number? And did we ever figure out what the hell/tell phone calls meant?
It is probable that we are just waiting for the next step from dispatch, but we want to also make sure we're not missing anything I did notice with the colors that it seems that group 3 and 4 have the same envelope color as does group 7 and 8? Maybe this is because those numbers are supposed to be taken together? As in 1910 and 1912 as noted in the dates above? I am probably overthinking it and that is leading down a rabbit hole that we dont need to go down
Just got my cards in a purple envelope with a 1 under the stamp and posted them in the gdoc (4 and 5 of hearts).
Wanna read all this, but busy..I'll just drop my pictures and have a look tomorrow (I just noticed 5 missing in a post, I had it under the stamp). http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=493989363 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=493985060
I just got mine (takes a little longer to get to me it seems, heh.) I got the 7 of clubs atop the 3 of clubs. There is also the number 4 behind the stamp. Card backing is the same as the others.
