Cheers for another great mission ^^ And no worries, the format hint didn't give anything away this time Thoroughly enjoyed the steps involved - very refreshing Spoiler I especially thought the inclusion of the double-hint was a nice touch - as it, in retrospect, gave me that "Ooooh!" moment, when I realized the connection, which had eluded me until then.
I also like this mission, but solving it was a bit of a convoluted path for me, and I missed the significance of much of it along the way. Spoiler I was way off base for hours on part one 1. There was an overabundance of clues here, most of which made no sense to me until after solving it. I finally solved it by starting over and focusing only on the seals in clues one and three, since those were the only clues I identified with certainty. I never figured out the second seal, the 9,3,1 or the flag in clue one. The date and the words in clues one and two made sense only in retrospect. Also, I took a break and went on to part 2 and solved that before returning to part 1. Knowing the solution to part 2 did not help in finding the connection I had previously missed in part 1, but it did help narrow things down rather quickly after I finally discovered what the connection between the clues in part 1 was all about. The pattern of “x’s” also helped speed things up, but I think I still would have eventually gotten it any way just with what I already knew. Overall, I found part 1 to be a good test of research skills. I found part 2 to be quite easy in comparison, but also quite amusing. I laughed as I was entering the solution for that and thinking “there is no way this could be answer.” Of course it was! And then I remembered who I am dealing with here: )
Great mission! Much easier than last one though. The second part I just followed logic and found the answer, but on part one I made some weird jumps in logic. It feels like six degrees of seperation. Knowing the format definitely helped me recognise the answer while I was wandering through wikipedia pages. It does feel good to finish one of your missions without help.
Thanks for the feedback, and glad to hear the mission was fun. Spoiler I wanted to combine the elements of both clues, and in doing so, encourage players to not always do the clues sequentially.

Well, I got part 2 and ...hahaha, I'm thinking that's going to screw me up on part 1 for awhile. But, yes, I'm loving it.
Oh I so love that big EUREKA moment! Had no problems with part 2 but after extensive wild goose chases on part 1 I finally got it. And the moment I did, all the clues made sense and sadly I laughed like a lunatic looking back on the wild meanderings that I wasted so much time on. Great fun Jarobi! I really loved this one. Course I blame you now for the insomnia I am suffering from. The mission completed 'high' has killed any chance for sleep now. *shakes her fist wildly*

Didn't say it was. It was an attempt to get you thinking. Edit: I hope that didn't sound harsh. Although, I think I have left word for word answers, I don't like to. This includes telling directly how to do it. Some of my heavy spoilers still leave some work to be done by the viewer. Maybe I'm silly.
Can anyone tell me which link you have used to Spoiler: part 2 read the book? With the version I had my 15.9.8 did not get the right word So in the end I had to read a spoiler although I was on the right track completely...
Maybe I'm too cold-hearted. I looked through 3 versions of the book until I found one that made sense and chalked it up to part of "research" (and everything it entails). I also walked 10 miles to school uphill in the snow both ways in a mankini.
Could someone give me a hint on the first part? This is what I got: Spoiler All emblems are connect to New Haven and I think it is even part of the needed passcode. I don't know what I have to do with the 913 or the flag in the first billboard. I ran across the Knights of Columbus but it didn't really lead me anywhere. I solved part 2 but don't really see the (apparently obvious) connection.
