Thanks guys and congrats Mochii. Ahw. Well at least one of the new Invesigation mission has you translating Japanese (or so I heard). Lol, I can imagine. You could always just say that it's your character that doesn't understand instead of you, just to not break you immersion. I also understood what he said in Norwegian because some of it is actually similar to Dutch. I approve of this quote.
Hehe, at least it's something - although in my honest opinion, that particular mission was: Spoiler: thought on new investigation mission, slight spoilers Not that hard of an investigation mission if you can read japanese, as it more or less becomes a question of turning your head and continue reading. However, it is fitting as an introductionary mission, and I assume quite difficult for those without any proficiency in Japanese - so all in all; a fair mission. ^^ As for my character, aye - I could. But my character is actually mute, but proficient in both Japanese (L1.1), Korean(L1.2), English(L2) and Danish(L1.3) - being the child of a Korean women and Danish man, who most often communicated by speaking in Japanese. At least according to the background I had already established; but since none of my cabal remains, I guess I could easily rewrite it. Then again, I could also just assume the person in question was obnoxious, and assumed english was prefered, rather than waiting for an actual answer. Spoiler Would seem like the Illumanti way of thinking as well. ;P
Alright so I am going to do a little bit of shameless self-promoting. Next week the Sanctuary will be hosting Sanctuary 13: Memories of the Future and we will be doing all kinds of events. Another thing I would like to point out is that Eloise Cortez has joined Twitter. Eloise was first introduced in this little project. I can confirm that. Very challenging indeed. You have a REALLY smart character then. Yeah, that might work. Cuz he didn't really give you time to answer anyway.
I take it this is something TSW related that I haven't heard of due to months of inactivity? Also, *shakes fist at nigh-intelligible hyperlink text* Ah, glad to hear it. ^^ Not exactly - at least that isn't the reason for the language-proficiencies; most of them were acquired simultaenously (L1.X), as a product of his parents communicating with each other in Japanese, but each side of the family communicating internally in Korean and Danish, respectively. The only "studied" language - sequentiallly obtained language - is English. That, and I try to downplay the Korean proficiency for now; still early days in my personal studies, so I can just barely read hangul, and only take pot-shot guesses at a translation based on the somewhat close ties with Japanese. ;P Taking into consideration everything else about the character; more than likely.
Well the original project was an ARG in January 2013, but I have been trying to bring the faction from that ARG (the Keepers) back for quite a while. This may or may not tie in with a certain unrevealed event for next week. Ah, so a very multi-cultural family? That works very well. My character does have some experience with different languages, because he traveled a lot, but nowhere near as much as yours it would seem. Also I would like to learn some new languages IRL, but the thing is that I suck at grammar (in any language, really).
So my HTC Dot View case arrived today (needed one while waiting for the TBW case I'm hoping will make a return with the upcoming Kickstarter), and have to say, it won points straight after I had finished fiddling a bit with it: Rather pleasently surprised one was able to change/add the background so easily, which appears to be a recently added functionality with the available app tied to the case - made by HTC themselves. Now to see if I can think up a fancier yet still intelligible background.
You might need to update the App already on your phone - I believe there's some standard variation already on it. You can find the App (and upgrade) here regardless. It should then pop up in your list of programs as "HTC Dot View", and then it's only a matter of picking the background you want. Just for the sake of it, here's the colour variations I tried, all of which I uploaded to imgur (was easier than transferring them directly to my phone ) White Brown/Orange Green Download the picture(s) onto your phone, go into the HTC Dot View program, select Theme, and add a new background from your gallery.
I edited the image a little bit, lowered the icon so that it doesn't overlap quite so much with the time/temperature. I only did it with green though, I liked that one best. If you crop it too large in the program it gets too pixel-y and doesn't look as nice :c Here
Aye, already tried lowering it a bit, but can't get it sized out of the way of the temperature/watch without it getting overly pixelated - the text didn't help either, though. ;P You can easily change the colouring by using GiMP and the colour overlay tool, by the way - how I changed the originally white logo from the V2 forum style to the green and brown.
Can I get you to make me a red image? I am bad at paint and I'm sure there's an option in the barebones photoshop that came with my computer... I just noticed that my phone is red and, right now with the green, it looks like Christmas. I hate Christmas.
Sweet! Thanks. Now all I need is another phone to take a picture of my phone. A camera? what's that? The 19th century is calling with their non-camera phones, they want their new technology back.
Spoiler My laptop camera doesn't do so well in low light, but the image on the phone looks a little clearer I think. Cool beans!
It's a great phone, and a pretty cool case. They just need to open the case app up to display non-HTC app notifications, then it'll be perfect.
