    While wandering through the building, Gavin ponders on what might be the best way of doing things.
    He knew he wouldnt stand a change against these things, if he were to meet them head-on, but with science on his side, he might be able to create some trap or diversion.
    "i wonder if im able to create some bearwolf pheromones, so we can can lure them to their cages or something..." he mumbled in himself, "or else i might be able to try to create/look for some aneasthetic, so that i can get them to sleep, but how administer those..." he continued...

    (OOC): Huge huge apologies for the wait since the last post! My manager at work has moved me onto full-time hours, and I've had a lot to do recently with my birthday, family plans and a puzzle hunt! Anyway, that's all out the way now so I should be able to continue this game!
    Trying a new format with this post to hopefully create more immersion! If you scroll down, you can see all rolls and effects at the end of the post! Let me know if you prefer this new format, or the old one (with the quotes and the rolls). Thanks!

    It was 11.30pm when the first death of the night occured.
    As the bearwolf limped it's way along the corridor, the pain finally got too much for it. With a despaired whimper it fell to the floor. The bullet wound was causing it to lose too much blood. It's life would be over soon...

    Two others prowled the long corridors of the Agency. Halfway down the Eastern corridor they discovered one of their kind - alone and bleeding on the ground. With a snarl they decided they'd avenge the death of their fallen friend. As they followed the trail of blood, they knew they'd soon find whoever killed him.

    ~~~
    After finding out that he was stuck in the ventilation shaft, Agent Greenstar decided that there was only one way to go - forward! As he wriggled his way through the narrow passage, pushing the bottle of bleach ahead of him with his trusted mop, he realised that he may have overestimated the distance between him and the end of the shaft because, all of a sudden, he found himself hanging halfway out of the vent! The bottle of bleach fell and, upon impact with the table below, spilled the cleaning product across the surface. Now there was a puddle of bleach/coffee, and if the terminal charging station was usable before, it certainly wasn't now.
    Pulling himself forward some more, he managed to grab hold of the edge of the vent and slowly lower himself down, until he was hanging from the opening. From there it was just a short drop to the floor, where he landed with a soft thud.
    Agent Codex watched as her clumsy co-worker spilt the bleach, adding yet something else that needed to be clean.
    "I was trying to make things less messy in here!" she said with a sigh. Now there were two spillages to clean up! Searching around for something to clean up with, she spotted the mop that had just fallen out of the vent alongside Agent Green. Maybe that would do?
    Suddenly she had an idea! She'd forgotten about the Terminal! Luckily it was still working, and so she navigated her way through the Agency files until she found the one she was looking for.
    "Bearwolves are easily disorientated. Flashing lights and loud music can both cause them to become confused. If you find yourself in an encounter with a bearwolf, shine a light in it's face or make as much noise as possible."
    ~~~
    Agent Many decided it was probably best to barricade the bathroom door... but what with?! Looking around him he noticed that, with the exception of a trash can, there really wasn't much he could use. Unless...
    "Neil, I need you to do me a favour," he said to the newer Agent. "If you want us to both survive, I need you to go and hold the door closed!"
    Without hesitation, Agent Neil did exactly as he was told. The young Agent was too scared to think straight and if his new friend said that using himself to barricade the door would keep him alive, then what other choice did he have!?
    Agent Many, on the other hand, went and hid in a cubicle. He felt safe with his Wet Floor Sign. He held it as he did before, with his arm tucked beneath the hinge, yielding it as a shield. Once again the sign glowed with a bright fluorescent light, displaying some kind of magical property. As he was holding the Wet Floor Sign, he felt his arm strangely beginning to go numb...

    ~~~
    Meanwhile, in the Southern Corridor, the rest of the team were dealing with the aftermath of the Bearwolf attack.
    Things had happened very quickly, but now that the events were over Agent Ravenhold replayed them in his mind. He remembered preparing for the attack and aiming to shoot. After he got the gun, however, things got pretty hectic. He heard someone get shot, and then more agents burst through from the lobby - one of them even shot the creature he failed to hit. This was certainly not what he had expected when he signed up for the shift.
    After watching the bearwolf retreat down the corridor, he used his comms. unit to ask if it was necessary to kill the beasts.
    "Uhh, that one's up to you! Obviously it'd be better if you didn't - they're very difficult to get hold of!"
    The next thing Agent Raven decided to do was check up on his fellow agents. Agent Gavin seemed to be holding up okay, and he apologized to Steve for shooting him! However, he couldn't forget that more were on their way. He readied the gun back down the corridor where the bearwolf had limped, and awaited the others. He calmed his breathing as he prepared himself for action.
    Agent Gavin was feeling okay. For a moment he thought his life would be over, but in the end he managed to get away with only a few bruises. Standing up from the ground, he noticed that one of his team weren't so lucky. He goes over to Agent Steve with his lab kit in hand, and pulls out a pair of forceps from it. After reassuring Steve - "I'm a doctor.... of sorts...." - he began to inspect the wound. The bullet was still in there, and it was wedged in fairly deep, but Gavin was sure he could extract it without any further damage. As he began to dig around within the wound, he realised he may have been wrong. He didn't really know what he was doing. After scraping the inside of Steve's wound, he eventually managed to extract the bullet, but from the look on Steve's face it was a pretty painful procedure. Agent Gavin quickly took out one of his bandages and wrapped it around Steve's shoulder. Hopefully that would stop the blood flow.
    After attending to his friend, Gavin decides to try and find one of the labs. As he creeps down the corridor, he makes sure to keep an eye out for any bearwolves. Aha! He spots a set of stairs leading up to the next floor of the Agency. As he takes the first step, the nausea feeling returns and he can't help himself - he vomits all over the floor in front of him.... Ew!
    Agent Steve, after being patched up, pulls out his glock again. He'd already shot one bearwolf, and he was confident he'd be able to do it again! His hands were shaking slightly, but that was probably just because he'd had makeshift surgery performed on him moments ago. Nevertheless he didn't let it phase him as he took a deep breath and prepared himself.
    He suddenly had a thought... A few of the Agents were hiding and didn't know what was happening! He spoke into the comms. unit and told them everything that had happened - the bearwolf arriving, how it pounced on Zae, getting shot by Raven, shooting the bearwolf, the arrival of the backup team, and anything else that happened.
    At least now they'd all be up to date!
    Agent Baktic was thinking more defensive than offensive. After the first bearwolf had attacked, he'd rather find somewhere to hide than stay in the open. He began to walk down the Southern Corridor to find somewhere to stay out of harms way. There was a janitor's closet which, upon opening the door, looked to be in a complete state. Further along the corridor were male and female toilets. Agent Baktic tried to open the door to the male toilets but found it was being held from the inside. At the end of the corridor was a power room which was also being barricaded. Heading back to the other agents, he opened the double door to the lobby and found himself standing where he'd first entered the building. The lobby was a simple room with a vending machine full of snacks and items, a sign in sheet for people entering the Agency, and a few tables and chairs laying around.
    Walking outside, he noticed how cold it had gotten. It must've been gone midnight, and there was a slight wind which gave the air a chill. The outside area was large and open, with the gravel road leading away from the Agency. Searching around he spotted a few bushes and some trees lining the path, but there didn't seem to be anywhere that'd give a suitable hiding space. He decided to head back inside and rejoin the rest of the group... It was much too cold to stay outside for long!
    Agent Grim enters the Southern Corridor to find two of his fellow team raising their guns and pointing down the corridor. He guessed that the bearwolves would be coming from that direction, so tried to cast a ward spell that'd alert them of their arrival... He focused, deep in thought, as he prepared the spell..... but nothing happened. Maybe he wasn't able to cast the warding spell when he was still primed for the offensive spell? Either way, he stands between Agents Steve and Grim and readies himself for the next bearwolf to arrive.
    ~~~
    The two bearwolves continued to follow the scent of blood, making their way down the Eastern corridor... As they turned the corner, they saw some human forms ahead of them.... now was the time for revenge.

    Gavin had trouble walking in a straight line because of the nausea
    seeing the pubble in front of him made him realise how little he had actually eaten the last day..
    but for now he had other worries than eating; he needed to get to a safe place asap; meaning that going to the labs right now might not be the best course of action.

    Watches the second pair of Bearwolves round the corner from the eastern corridor. They haven't charged us yet. To make sure everyones aware of them, he gets on the comms.

    @All: "Two more contacts, Eastern Corridor."

    • Takes aim at the closest of the two and waits for them to charge us.
    • Takes the shot on the closest one, should they begin a charge us.
    • Should Steve (or anyone else) decide to initiate combat, take the shot on the one they haven't attempted to attack.

    "You're pretty clumsy, for a Green-level agent." Codex quipped. "Anyway, I'm going to work on cleaning this up..." She grabbed the mop and got to work trying to clean up the mess of coffee and bleach.
    Listening to the discussion over their comms system, she sighs. "You all should try to get to a safe place... Barring that, try using flashing lights and loud noises to disorient them. I looked it up on my mobile terminal and apparently that should help."

  8. Greenstarfanatic

    Greenstarfanatic Senior Agent

    "Hey, I didn't spill your coffee, did I? And give that back, it's the only thing keeping me safe around here."

    Take back the mop before Codex uses it. Who knows what terrible magic things might happen if it comes into contact with both coffee AND bleach??

    Actually that sounds pretty cool. Try looking at the mop to see if there's any kind of...magic operating instructions.

    "We shouldn't be standing out in the open, there is a janitors closet and the woman's bathroom to choose from. I'd recommend we hide together, strength in numbers after all." He'd ask over the comms, "What do you guys think, closet or bathroom?"

    @codex-13 : "Thanks you for the info Codex."

    Without taking his aim off of the beasts, he reaches into his vest and pulls out his smart phone. He turns on the bright-as-hell flash light function, and aims the light at them.

    He then fires 6 rounds (taking him down to another 6 left in his clip) at the creatures, not necessarily intending to hit them, but not really caring if he does. Using the muzzle flashes as another source of strobing light, and the loud-as-hell sound of gun as the source of noise. As he fires, he answers Baktic's question.

    @baktic : "I'm of the opinion that we should deal with these things now rather then later." Gun-Shot! "If we hide, we'll have to all night." Gun-Shot! "These things are hunting animals, They would eventually find us." Gun-Shot! "They seem large enough and strong enough that anything we use to lock ourselves in with, short of reinforced metal, wouldn't keep them out for long." Gun-Shot! " Codex just give us a way of managing them." Gun-Shot! "We already know they aren't invincible." Gun-Shot! "And what would happen if the work crews got here in the morning with them still roaming the place?"

    spots bearwolves at the end of the corridor, and after hearing Codex's communique and the gunshots, adds to the noise by shouting and stands ready to attack should the creatures charge or the battle be initiated

    @Ravenhold : "the work crews would probably just dispose of them, seeing as this isnt the first time the bearwolves have been wandering the halls when they got here, but i see your point. We need to contain them."

    @dylanamite : "Agent Dylan, do you still have any of that bearwolf tranquilizer left from that last incident? That would help immensely."

  12. Steve Harvey

    Steve Harvey Senior Agent

    "Alright Agent Raven," Steve yells, trying to make himself heard among the gunshots. "Let's get a plan of attack going here. We need to deal with these Bearwolves efficiently. I'll take my first shots at the southmost bearwolf, and you'll fire at the other one, where ever it may be, should the 2 come down the corridor at the same time. If only one comes down the corridor, you should take the first shots. I'll stay back, and use my glock should the bearwolf get too close." Steve then gestures to Agent Grim, "maybe get some spells ready, Grim. We're going to need as much help as we can get."

    As the bearwolf footsteps seem to get closer and closer, Steve takes a deep breath, tries to shrug off the nagging pain of his bullet wound, and prepares himself for the bearwolves.

    Gavin heard the shots and noises coming from the other group and decided hed made the right call in going on.
    he continued his journey to the labs
    there should only be two more bearwolves left and the crippled one, so he should be okay at the moment.

    Looking down at his WFS-covered arm, ManyPinkHats realized that arm-numbness is probably not a good thing. Is that one of the signs of a heart attack? Or an embolism? Regardless, the first thing to do would be to let go of the WFS, which ManyPinkHats would really like to have done, had that arm not been completely numb. As it stands, the next best option is to find a doctor, which means getting out of the washroom.

    Get Neil to listen at the door for any movement outside. If the coast is clear, sneak out with Neil [in front] and head in the direction of least-noise-of-bearwolves-and-gunshots.
