First of all, the obvious problem is cost- smart phones cost a pretty penny, and we don't exactly have the funds to buy hundreds of smartphones just to blow them up. Secondly, the charging-exploding, from what I've researched, is rather spontaneous and unpredictable. Thirdly, the fact that you've heard of this, and that I myself have heard and laughed at it, makes it unsurprising... you can't just go up to someone, say "hey, you can borrow my phone, its on a spare battery," and expect them to use it, much less notice that it is an explodey S7. If it were a phone that we built into an explosive, that would be a different scenario. So, bottom line, TL : DR, no, I will not make an S7 explode on command for you.
