Hello everyone! Please let us know what you thought of Missions 12 - 15, in terms of difficulty, immersion and narrative. If you wish to give detailed feedback, puzzle by puzzle, please message me directly to avoid spoilers. Thank you in advance for your feedback!
They were really cool It was difficult, but it's logical as we are in the mid part of the saison, things become more complex. But I helped myself with the streaming of Agent Aquilas, in parallel of my own research and reflections. Especially, narration & immersion were really great (especially the part with the PARVIS). You feel really involved in history while playing, and I had'nt felt that way for a long time with a game. You rock!
I'll use a super highly innovative scoring system : 1 being "pathetic" and 10 being "perfect" Difficulty = 7 Immersion = 9 Narrative = 8 I would especially like to point out that the last mission is my favorite for its community aspect . (most people who do not speak the required language would have been unable to complete) I hope to revisit this aspect in future missions, with , why not, voice messages in different languages to translate.
Narrative was great, loved it the entire way though. I r8 gr8 8/8 Difficulty, they could stand to be a bit easier in some regards, these felt good for a team of people, but a bit over the reach of an individual player. Though people got things I struggled on near instantly in some cases. So it could happen these played to my weaknesses and that's why I had trouble. Immersion, is probably the part that could use the most improvement. The voice actor + over-dramatic music took me out of the moment at the start of every mission. The mission materials themselves were great. One small problem I had, and I'll be vague to avoid spoilers; is a series of graphs that appear without labels, and no reason to explain the lack of labels. I'm still wondering why the team who made the graphs refused to properly label them, but if I ever find them I'll make them wish Gwen had come to their house. I feel very strongly about my paperwork. But that could easily be explained by damage/sabotage in the archive. So easily fixed.
I really loved the narrative with these missions, as well as the missions themselves. They were a bit tricky, but hey, we all thought Missions 7-11 we ridiculously tricky too, and looking back, they seem pretty simple now. It's a difficulty curve that we're being forced to follow, and I think we're doing a damn good job of it. As for the voice acting + dramatic music, it didn't take me out of the moment per say, as it did take me out of my chair and put me on the floor whenever my volume was too loud.
You now know me a bit, when i give feedback, it's raw, hot and sincere above everything else, because i'm confident this is the only way to have some effective data and look for improvments. The narrative was really good, and the websites support were put to good use. I reached the STIQ state twice. (STIQ for Screw This I Quit, which is not used lightly because that defines moments i thought to completely give up the game) Spoiler The first time on mission 13, where i couldn't do anything about the visual clues (except extract the obvious, that led me nowhere) and i spent a lot of time trying to input the answer while i simply forgot to add what you needed to AFTER the answer (which had me convinced that i was wrong, for a time) The second time was during mission 14 when i couldn't find the codex i needed, for a ciphered text that i suspected but wasn't enteriely conviced The last mission was fun because of its theme, but tier 2 was hard to complete because of the reachability of the information, which gets me to those issues : When you know EXACTLY what you need but cannot find it anywhere , which makes it even more annoying because you basically solved the puzzle (you know the shape, the content of the jigsaw piece) but the last piece isn't in the box. It kills the fun, really. Spoiler: Conclusion Mission 12 - Immersion : Very good. Difficulty - Fine. Narrative - Great. More : I was eager (like really really wanted to) to read all the reports, but only one archive number was active, too bad. At least now you know it spiked my interest Mission 13 - Immersion : Cool. Difficulty : Awful. Narrative : Weird but ok. More : That thing with the feathers was tricky, i totally failed that part and would NEVER have found it without Aquilas's stream, btw thanks man, you saved me that day. Mission 14 - Immersion : I had chills. Difficulty : A block then it went smooth. Narrative : Creppy AND awesome ! More : Another faction to our Lorebook, potential enemies for the future, yey ! Mission 15 - Immersion : When you bring occultism, it gains that flavour i love Difficulty : I managed, the answer for part 2 though.. books are costly. Narrative : Spirit are you there ? (Loved it) And i agree with the others when they say the male voice during briefing videos and the music, kinda kills the mood. That ain't a sport match, i'd prefer a calmer, sinister, colder voice. Hell even a computer-like tone would be cool (Like ADA from Ingress, not Sam from Microsoft, gee.)
