So is there an edition of Maltego available in the Stinger OS currently? Or has it just been used to plot the mission briefings?
its only used for the briefings in the alpha missions so far there might be an option where you can use maltego on NT4 entities, but thats not going to happen anytime soon if at all
OK cool because to be honest with a game thats main focus is around network mapping maltego would make the game a bit too easy.. I would like for there to be some ability to script automate somethings though. Because lets be honest you can't have a pen testing game with no code whatsoever haha
I'm not sure how it makes the game "easy". It's just handy as a note keeping program. You still have to figure out everything for yourself. I use Maltego to keep track of all of the information I find, so I can quickly reference it at a later time.
Well depending on your level of expertise on maltego you would realise that maltego is one of the most advanced search machines out there - not just a notekeeping program. The transformation machines make it really easy to just scan all the ranges within the game (IP and domain) and link any personal information with a few clicks of a button. Not hating or anything but maltego is just really powerful and I dont think you have ever used it to its full potential.
I currently use Maltego CaseFile during missions to manually map intel. Is there any "real" usage of CE (for game play) except when trying to "crawl" for information to try to find relation between entity and mission results? Or are there game information stored online which transforms can be used on?
No, but the NT4 hivemind editor in the Network Admin DLC is based off of Maltego. I think originally that was the plan, for the seed server, but it has not come to be.
