An incredible shout out to Agent Branwen who sipped wine with me virtually (though I know I was sipping from my end of the connection) and forced me to puzzle out part 1 of this adventure). I have to say.....I learned so much about some things I never even realized could have done things! And never once said, the answer is 'XXXXXX' silly head! I truly appreciated the patience.
Glad you have all enjoyed this one. I'll be posting another soon. Spoiler Plus we will soon find out what was in the dead drop package
Part 3 of the mission was pretty easy - and fun. I find myself stuck on part 1 though...don't really have an idea what the color codes refer to. I've tried London's tube stations, as well as searching for them in conjunction with the text, but no luck. Edit: Nothing like a general search, though I didn't see how the colors played into it at all.
Spoiler: Part 1? You need to look in the town from Part 1. If you're stuck in Part 1, you should know that it's not just a warrior in the background but a black knight chess piece.
Document 1 Spoiler: Mildly Heavy I have entered every location associated with the ________ rocket including rockets that used the _______ components. Spoiler: Extremely Heavy Manufacturer Still can't figure it out. Edit: Welly welly welly well. After hours of putting in locations, I did get it. There were way too many to pick from. Document 2 I have figured it out, but is there any reason for the misspelling of the movie title? Document 3 Having trouble with knowing how to enter the date. European style? Abbreviated? No year? Spoiler: Guesses Liberty Ships and Victory ships? Victory ship KingsPORT was refitted with satellite communication. Kingston, UK was bombed in the Hull Blitz (possibly because of their docks). Kingston, Jamaica housed WWII boats. Kingston Victory ship doesn't have a lot of info on it. Kingston Communications/KCom. Soccer: Hull City (KC stadium) v Swansea City (Liberty Stadium). The two rugby leagues don't match. That's all I've really got. There's stuff from the last two cases that don't really seem to mesh with this. Spoiler: doh Someone didn't look at the xx/xx/xxxx way of entering it. I've had it right for days.
After reading all the spoilers on this forum I finally figured out the first part, and I got the second part quickly with what I had read here. The third part still gives me trouble... Edit: Got it literally three minutes after posting this. Also, I really thought the first answer would be related to either Sir Elton John or Sir Ian McKellen, and I'm slightly disappointed that it isn't.
I thought the first one had to do with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Because, you know, Masons.
So hey, now that some time has passed and I can fondly review some of my investigatory dead-ends on this one . . . Spoiler If anyone wants to write a mission that requires agents to take two dates from the past (say something affiliated with the HMS Liberty J391 and HMS Kingston F64—just for example) and then perform a bitwise OR (or even XOR) operation on some format of them in a way that actually produces a date in the future, then I would appreciate it. I have a whole day of my life, some new tortured math skills and some lost sanity I would like to reclaim somehow. : )
I am absolutely stumped on Document 1 here. Spoiler I'm pretty sure I'm somewhere along the right track, looking for a specific subway station, or something pertaining to the London Underground, but I'm doubting myself a bit. The slogan points towards New York, another prominent city for subways. Am I even on the right track here?
Just checked my journal for this mission, Greenstarfanatic. See no subways or undergrounds though I did myself chase that goose for a bit as well. If still stumped send me a shout and I will try to turn your geese into ducks and put them neatly in a row. ~Me, perpetual goose chaser
Got it! Just took a slight shift in perspective and I found it very quickly. Document 2 went smoothly, very easy when you know the answer to part 1 and realize what the picture is of, like, immediately. Document 3 on the other hand...eugh.
Part 3 is tricky. But in retrospect easy. Hate those particular goose chases the most. Agent Branwen helped me see the truth on this one. Sleep on it, focus on the 'v' and what it could mean? Maybe google a key clue? Oh and again if you need a goose fluffed into a duck give me a tap. Love my missions all sorted and in a neat little row!
