May I say how lovely it is that the team keeps giving us stuff to work on! Once more into the breach...
Please pay special attention tot he filename on this thing I just did. Following a twee hint from Anashel Spoiler I went looking for prime numbers in the number list on the image. This is what I got.
Stuck on this one. Spoiler: Spoiler Not sure what I'm missing. Trying to piece what the three lines have to do with each other in the text file. Richard Dees is from "Night Flier" by Stephen King. "Having a Woman at Lunch" is a short story by Paul Hazel. Both of these stories appear in a collection of shorts titled "Prime Evil: New Stories by the Masters of Modern Horror." I'm assuming there may be some connection between that and the pattern of prime numbers in the image?
This is a tough one, I've hit a brick wall here. Gonna throw out my theorising though: Spoiler "John" on its own is hard to link with the the rest of the text file because it's so vague, so I took the rest of it to be a lead to 'Prime Evil', and "Prime Evil" to be our hint to do the prime number highlighting Asariel posted - that then leaves us with "John" + "2:10", a bible verse. That's the only way I can think to use John and I'm fairly confident it's relevant, but I'm not sure where to go from there... Edit/update: Spoiler Got it - the exact passage isn't that important, I wasted a lot of time getting too specific about the wine and everything.
Still working on it here. I'm clearly missing something right in front of my face. Spoiler No idea what to do with the bible verse. Any advice?
You're looking for a 10 character word that explains to some extent why this person is targeting newborns and children. If you can't find it, double check that you have the right [REDACTED], because I, and others, misread the number.
Spoiler Remember, you're looking for what possible motivation the killer might have, this could both be taken to mean either internal motives (the killers past, opinion, psychological profile, etc.), and external (the reasoning behind victim selection, what not). Try looking at the text with that in mind. Also, keep in mind there are more than one text using that specific reference [REDACTED].
So about the next part. Spoiler Maude Keen Riley was said to haunt the maternity ward of a hospital in Calgary. The map is roughly centered on the old location of said hospital. The answer is a phrase. 3 letters, 4 letters, 9 letters, 6 letters.
I didn't get the numbers in the circles, asariel did, haha :] then I peaked before I have it a real try, but the answer is not something I would have thought of without a hint!
I figured out the prime bit, but then decided "That's too much work, did someone already highlight it."
I return home from work and figure it out in 5 min. it was all the time in front of me... if you connect the clues problem solved
Just some questions about the background: Spoiler: Heavy spoilers Is our killer on the search for the Antichrist and thus thinks he is on a "holy" mission? What are the red numbers on the map standing for?
Just starting this one, watched the briefing and had to laugh. (after replay several times to get it to play without being jerky) With the video showing moving ghost images of the eye/pyramid and a dark line near the base of the pyramid that wavered - it looked like the eye/pyramid had lips and was talking along with the audio. Sure looked goofy, but kinda natural, too. I mean, who wouldn't take orders from a one-eyed talking pyramid?
