For posterity: This video contains all the screens that are displaying at the moment in the situation room, as well as a rhythmic clicking noise from the lights. The lights were not doing that when I was running the client this afternoon, so make of that what you will. Also, what I said about the situation room was that there were two Joker gifs. The one in the video was there this afternoon, and there was another one to the left of the test pattern in the upper row. The test pattern that is there now is new, and wasn't there this afternoon. There are currently two "black" moving images in the situation room, one to the left of the 2spooky girl in the mirror, and another to the right of the (6)66 monitor. Those weren't there this afternoon, either. edit: Forgot to mention that it would probably be easier to download the video and boost up your system volume, the clicking is kind of faint to begin with and my phone went potato trying to record it.
I also considered, because it was Dark Shadows, that perhaps shadows in the image itself may play a part. It looks a lot like shattered bricks to me. Additionally, for the sake of the Dark Shadows tangent, it ran from 27 June 1966 to 2 April 1971 for a shocking total of 1255 episodes, plus one Johnny Depp/Tim Burton film released in 2012, an intended remake in 1991, and then another remake pilot in 2004. It seems more important to mention that other proposed titles of Dark Shadows were: Shadows on the Wall (!) This was their working title and what impressed ABC to pick up the show. Castle of Darkness The House on Widows' Hill Terror at Collinwood (!) Terror's certainly somewhere, I guess! (I was late to posting about Dark Shadows, so I'll just add this).
Old news as we were discussing it yesterday, but concerning the city shape, someone had found something similar: http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/edif%ADcios-da-cidade-3d-a%A9reos-23254859.jpg It shouldn't be the same as the visible buildings seems to have a cell shading rendering (or a photo with effects based on contrasts and edges) Concerning the drawing of a woman, you'll probably want to remove the right side of it, because you're currently using a wire/line of the grid. Like the diagonal stripes over the picture, there's also a wire fence like grid, with unregular squares composing it embedded in front of the picture. It's a bit like watching a city from a high tower, with a fence preventing you from falling. Nb: Other details have already been mentioned here.
There is definitely live control of the clips - Anashel was demonstrating it on IRC back in 1.1.0... Of course, at that point he was more often demonstrating the ability to make our clients crash on command, but the capability was at least theoretically there. From what I've been able to dig out though, the current system doesn't look like it allows for any individualized control of clients - they all fetch the same list of clips to display. The clips themselves - at least the ones currently on the air - are either JPGs or PNGs with a sequence of 7, 16, 20, 27, or 28 frames (the length is likely arbitrary). They're also paired with a (currently unused) "url" field, suggesting that it's possible for screens to act as links. colors.png (7 frames): 1416050536.jpg (28 frames) -Bats (I was going to offer all the clips for analysis, but there's still a $@#%$!! 2-image-per-post limit. maybe I'll put them up elsewhere later)
The lights have done that since 1.1.0 - both the flickering and the clicky florescent sound. It may be significant (4 lights = 4 bits = 1 hex digit?), but it's not new. If it helps anyone seeking meaning in it, it's a 5-6 second loop. -Bats
1416051013.jpg (7 frames?): 1416051052.jpg (16 frames): -Bats (I still think 052 looks like a dalek on a beach)
Just logged in, found new guest. Reminds me of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089175/ P.D.: Sorry, I'm in a hurry, they're tearing me apart at Uni. Hopefully I'll be free again two weeks from now. Edit: Sorry about the right half just ignore it. Note to self: mind 2nd monitor when screen capturing u_u
Holding alt while hitting print screen should only capture the active window. Some fullscreen apps don't work with that, however.
I enhanced the audio and let the sequence run twice. Maybe it helps hearing it more clearly: https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/ARG/Sprachmemo 001.m4a?_subject_uid=283693974&w=AAB6zyEe0--ZQ_NKjtl23GIPAr-KjtDL6Fj4xTz4vXvaYw I also ran it through an acoustic spectrum analyser, to no avail...
So this changing over time is a way to teach us how to "stare at the f*cking static" again. Neat. Let's wash our brains in front on the TV like good sheeps while the strings in our brain are gently pulled by our dear puppetmasters. Btw that's actually a good "alpha test" as we could expect it, we are not only testing the client, we are testing missions.
Somebody should fix the power mains. Unstable power is bad for the ballast on fluorescents with all that flashing - and the bluish smoke is worrisome. Is there an electrical fire? Maybe the power problems are why we have only a few monitors working. I have a habit of seeing Morse Code in irregularly flashing lights. But the only way I can translate is to video capture and analyze luminance levels frame-by-frame to get the dits-and-dahs, then consult a translator table. The hallway in Rosenberg took me better part of a day to find unreliable nonsense. Is anybody proficient at this? It occurs to me there are 9 columns of four monitors (9 characters of hexadecimal?) and that their conditions change. I haven't been watching often enough to notice a pattern and I'd think if there were a message there one row (the ones digit) would be close to 50% lit and seemingly random.
That reminds me of the End of Days, we had a similar problem to fix before activating the Situation Room for everyone. Maybe not now but definetely worth it to have in mind.
