a location relating to UVB-76: The former transmitter, before it was moved in 2010, was located near Povarovo, Russia[30] at 56°5′0″N 37°6′37″E which is about halfway between Zelenograd and Solnechnogorsk and 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Moscow, near the village of Lozhki. In 2011 a group of urban explorers explored the abandoned buildings at Povarovo.[32]They claim that it is an abandoned military base. A radio log record was found, confirming the operation of a transmitter at 4625 kHz.
Zargh on IRC linked G (Msika's "Wife") to Gladys, The Black Watchmen handler. Seems to fit really well.
Number references in order on the letters: 21st; 5 days; Dec 9, 2012; 72 hours; 2 weeks; 32 pounds; 2 hours; 12 hours; 15 months; 2 months; 15 months again
It seems like these events are bleeding into the TSW universe. Said and Kirsten appear to be aware of the situation.
I tried to get an image that showed what I was seeing but I realized it is like a rorschach test where you can see different things depending on brightness and contrast settings. So, I figure it best y'all experience for yourself if you want. http://imgur.com/yjqbwf1 is the image with blue removed from the ink, makes the writing stand out less so you can see the watermark better I've been using http://www.befunky.com/create/ for contrast/brightness because it is really easy. Download the image from http://imgur.com/yjqbwf1, load it into befunky and then click Exposure to get to brightness & contrast controls, I've been turning brightness down to -40 or so and then adjusting contrast to see different features. Do the same with previous versions to get a different view of it.
I think regardless of what can be seen, the paper used looks like it is either: * sections of a theatrical or bookseller's poster, in which case there should be more pieces above the pieces we see - the Gogol text at bottom looks like original ink instead of M's blue; and the four pieces we have would be unusual dimensions for a poster. * fancy designer stationery like you'd find in an art museum gift shop. Either way, I think it odd she'd be using the same paper over a space of 2 years, i think it throws the timeline into question
Ok, I am trying to compile all the bits we don't have resolutions for from the letters. I may have missed some stuff, so please tell me if I post one of these bits and we have indeed resolved it, or I didn't post something I should have, so I can update the post. Spoiler Letter 2: Carcosa File Hall C Letter 3: The numbers the Crusades two insiders Letter 4: tapping/time limit Gwendolyn
Don't know how you got Gwendolyn, but the code at the to of the first letter is how we got Fibonacci. Corresponds with the date 11/23/58
Possible locations of Carcosa: Spoiler Bierce's tale An Inhabitant of Carcosa places the ruins of the city on a planet from which the Hyades can be seen in the night sky above, clearly identifiable as such, implying this is earth (or at least earth as it once was). Given that the Hyades is a name from Greek mythology though it seems likely that the city existed some time after the Classical period, or it is identified as such through some older name being translated. Suggested real world locations include Arabia's Rub al-Khali region, and the Gobi desert. In addition, the name suggests a connection with Carcassonne in France. Philip Jose Farmer placed Khorkasa in Africa. Cold Case: Rona hints that it may be found in New Mexico, in the T'charcosa Badlands. In addition, the vagueness of city status for Hastur and Alar raises further questions of identity and location. The Rest Of Your Life sets Carcosa in America as a sort of afterlife or spiritual trap.
Division66 just popped into #division66 on irc a few minutes ago: 21:53 < Division66> Message from Div42: "Target barbizon site NOW. We have suspected them of human trafficking for a while. Stay in touch with Phoenix of any new development." 21:53 < Division66> Stay safe 21:53 < Arcadius> So hit their physical site or website? 21:54 < Division66> I'll suggest investigate first... Stay safe may not mean "full front attack".
i did the golden spiral but didn't find anything worthwhile... i thought it might match up to some of the numbers but it didn't hit a single one unfortunately. tried each letter individually and then when they are pasted together.
