I have reached something important. The proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. I don’t yet know what it is, but I know I've been searching for it for a long time. I'm at the end of my journey, I have succeeded. I need nothing more. I begin to rise, a balloon caught in an updraft. The night sky is full, stars glistening in their perfect beauty. Below me, the earth is but a universal mass of water, air and fire, as I rise in the ether, time brings my soul and mind into one space. Soon I see the sky above is a mirage; a massive black sheet, cast upon the world. The stars, holes in this dark fabric, allow the white light to shine down from beyond. I reach the obsidian layer, the horizon stretching as I push through the sky. Suddenly, the sheet bursts like a bubble and I am surrounded by glorious light. Before me stands a winged sentry, all skillful in the wars, yet above all noise and danger, crown’d with smiles. It welcomes me as a gracious friend, and I let myself go.
