Welcome, welcome, welcome... I think it was about time we got one of these neat little off-topic, random chat topics. The rules of internet apply in this topic (nothing is too weird for the internet), but Dem Rulez obviously also apply. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of you!
How are the results so far? Are you satisfied? I still need to receive the grades for 2 assignments and have to do two exams. Everything could in theory still go wrong if I fail all of those, but that is highly unlikely. If I do however I would still have to leave my education.
Best of luck, ChosenOne Finished the last of my catching-up exams a little under two weeks ago (Oral Language Proficiency & Social Studies: International Politics); so I'm now done with my bachelors degree in Japanese Area Studies. Onward, to the Cognitive Semiotics elective course!
I suppose I'm fairly satisfied. I've finally passed Computer Architecture after two years repeating it I've failed 2 out of 11 subjects, what I think it's a good number compared to my second year: 8 failed out of 12 ( I managed to save 4 in July so it really was 4 failed out of 12) But today I defended my Compilers assignments, and for what the teacher has told me I have a 50% chance of passing so... maybe I've failed 3 out of 11. Time will tell. And as you may have guessed I'm doing a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering Best of luck, ChosenOne :O Sounds interesting. I also have some interest in Japan, I hope to visit one day at the very least Best of luck in your new course Santiak, and congrats!
Thank you both! Congrats! All of that sounds very challenging, but also very interesting. Also you must really love the Tokyo zone then, right? Congrats to you as well! Computer Engineering sounds good as well, though I would probably suck at it. I am doing International Media and Entertainment Managament.
Yay, fellow computer engineer! Prepare to graduate and forget nearly everything Interesting to see the variety of interests here, good luck to all the students finishing up.
Yay And yeah, I know u__u. As soon as I finish and get a decent income I'm going straight for the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Certified_Ethical_Hacker
Also on a completely unrelated topic... (This is the off-topic/random thread after all.) I have been wondering who these mysterious staff members/Puppet Masters are. Is there any way we could get an introduction?
I think they are HE staff, but no sure. Maybe... they'll intruduce themselves after the Kickstart begins, or maybe not
Well they are Puppet Masters, so they might orchestrate things from their dark and evil lair without showing their faces. ' Thanks!
Hehe, actually, I did look forward to it, but from the whole "woo! My area of expertise!"-viewpoint, it was a bit of a let-down. There were, for example, quite a few pronounced accents, on characters that shouldn't have had them. For most intents and purposes, I felt as if it could just as well have happened anywhere else - but then again, this was only the first bit of many to come. On a sidenote, there was that one particular character (vagueness to avoid spoilering) that starts by first asking in Japanese if the player "understands Japanese", to which I thought "yep, I do" out loud. The character then proceeds, in norwegian, something along the lines of "no? what about norwegian then?", to which I also thought "Yes, that too." (extremely similar to danish, so no problems regarding both understanding as well as being understood) Finally, the character gives up and, in english, goes "fine, we'll take english then". At which point I felt sorely cheated While I take it you mean Anashel, adder and VGG - who, just for the sake of a superficial introduction, are the people working at HE - the CINO, an intern, and the Project Director I believe - but just in case you are also refering to thatangryviking and me; the "Staff Member" thing is likely just a temporary title. As our signatures state, we're not here in any official capacity. We both volunteered for moderator duty, and that's pretty much all we are; the Puppet Strings of the Puppet Masters, so to speak. Something for them to pull on if the puppets misbehave, and something for the puppets to pull on if the masters aren't listening.
I am going to respond to your post tonight (right now I have to go through everything for the exam which is in 3 hours), but I wanted to tell you guys real quick that I made it through to the second year. Now I am gonna try and get the remaing 5 points for my Foundation Course. Either way, really happy.
congrats tco! i found out yesterday that i passed all my exams, with mostly good grades, so i am happy about that
