    Haha,

Well, i'm now an expert of green birds of the southwest US! I maybe need to stop looking so deep into these things.

Thanks Arbiter, You are my Hero!

I would like some help on this one! I listened to the audio of this one and I think it might be talking about some railway in Kansas but I'm not sure. Some help here please!!!!

I noticed that but nothing there helped me. I would like a hint.

I'm still stuck on this one. I've looked at all of the other posts and I have nothing. A solid nudge would be much appreciated.

They are names for things. That should put you on the right train of thought.

    SilverByte has the best clue.
What else could be called the Scout?

I've worked on the connections between the cactus puzzle answers(bird puzzle, train puzzle, revolver/bridge/hanging/dead-end puzzle) for a few hours now and haven't found any major leads. A hint would be great! Thanks!

    1. For the birds: Think of what the riddle says, and don't focus too much on the actual birds in the picture.

    2. For the train: Try to search for the items as a group

    3. For the Revolver puzzle: What do all of those things have in common? this one is probably the easiest one in the cactus section, so don't over think it.

    4. Check around at other threads in this section if you haven't, all of these have had threads with others giving good hints and advice.

They already have the individual puzzles solved. Now they are trying to connect them. I honestly had to brute force my way through it.

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH.

Personally, I made a list of each item and looked them all up to connect them.

Oh, that's not fun. Did tou have issues with other fragment connections or just the Cactus?

I got mixed feedbacks on that mechanics, some people really like the investigation par but at the same time, it can quickly become complex. I was thinking of addding a difficulty level that would set the numbers of connections to investigate. (Easy: 2 per fragments, Medium: 3 per fragments and Hard: 5 per fragments...)

    Hello.

I've solved all three fragments, but I'm absolutely clueless on what any of the options for any of the three have to do with pocket watches! Short of trundling through combinations, I'm completely stuck.

I know Adler gave Holmes a sovereign for his watch chain, but that seems tenuous. And I remember that a pocket watch was mentioned in the first story, when Holmes diagnoses Watson's brother's alcoholism from his pocket watch, but that's not an option!

    Any help?

    Hello :)

Ahnayro is about the dream logic, it disconnects a bit from our usual perception of things, so take a step back from the actual objects and focus more about their use.

Nope, sorry. I just accidentally solved it, and I've no idea why at all!

I thought it was fine, honestly. It wasn't any harder than the other fragments since finding out where an address is located it pretty easy. I just wrote them down to make it easier to write down connections between them.
I don't know, I feel like 5 gives just the right amount of options to make brute force guessing unviable while not having too much to investigate. Maybe put 5 in Normal, 3 in Easy and something like 7 in Hard mode? I feel like 2 would be too easy to just guess.

I'm sorry to hear that. Did you run into a similar issue on the other objects, or just the pocket watch?
We have received mixed feedback about the connection mechanic - some people greatly enjoying, while others become frustrated. We are considering adding a difficulty setting which would control the number of attributes connected to each fragment.

To give you, and anyone else interested in this object, a hint:
The publishing dates of the two books are important.

I think the issue is just not having any idea whether each is a unique link to the object, whether they link to each other, whether they relate more direct to the puzzle they're from, etc.

Any how, many more thoughts on it going up on RPS tomorrow :)

We eagerly look forward to your thoughts tomorrow, and we will take this note into consideration to help improve the mechanic.
