Curse my musical ineptitude, and the resulting difficulty I have with Morse code. I'd only managed to get to the end of the URL when you posted.

Ah nice! Good catch on the uppercase / lowercase. Did you test all the possibilities?

If I recall correctly, aye, I tried most of the combinations. This was the only one that lead to an image, and considering the youtube video with the morse-code, and the style of the image there, I'd wager it's what we were supposed to find. :)

Is this an ongoing investigation? Should we create Fan Base mission rather then leaving this in off-topic?

I'll take a peek at this puzzle later, so watching this thread for now. Main note: title would best be "Fan Missions." (I think Fan's Missions is a little unwieldy.)

Altho it's entirely your call where you place this (even delete it for that matter) I don't think this should be placed in Fan Missions.
The reason being that we (my group iTraders) are creating this little ARG for another company as an advertisement campaign. (I don't like doing simple giveaways) ;)

So I can say this much, people who manage to pin all the points together : get access to "something" before others do and official announcements go out to the world. At that "something" you have a chance of 1 of several copies the developers gave us. Is it ok if I add you on Steam Anashel, so I could give you some more insight? (without giving to many clues that is. I love it that you and Santiak had a go at this :))

Very nice :) I had ton's of people on Steam saying the url didn't work. You're first to solve that part ;)

Hehe, I'm only participating for the fun of it - no point in me potentially taking away the prize, instead of those who're trying their hand at ARGs for the first time, and might get interested as a result.
Will keep an eye open, though. ^^

That's quite nice of you as I'm sure your answers helped to several people already (I know a few on Steam got stuck and used your spoiler lol). That said, the company/game we do this for didn't make an ARG, but has "ARG-components" hence this was the best way to go imo (many of our users enjoyed our cryptic giveaways in the past) as it gets people to think and "drawn" into it. Rather than > oh a free game > let's leech and bail.

Just wondering, did you by chance try Cicada 3301? As you are fast on these things.

Hehe, well, if people do use the spoilers, I reckon it's up to them - although I find that it is many times more fun to keep going at it, even well after you're at your wits end.
In fact, the most rewarding "A-ha!" moments I've experienced, weren't when the next step was solved immediately. It was the times when we got stuck, and people started bouncing ideas off each other - sometimes for days on end. The ideas quickly moved from the rational to the irrational, but ultimately those "irrational" ideas were the ones that guided us to the right solution.
For some reason, I find that solving something after I've felt stuck, feels like learning something new about myself. Which isn't to say that solving something on the first go isn't rewarding, merely that it's rewarding in a more self-affirming way (or community-affirming way, I should say), whereas the former is a bit closer to what I imagine it feels like to have an epiphany. ;P

As for Cicada 3301, I do seem to remember coming across it once, but I think it was during one of the TSW tie-in ARGs, so I never really dove into it, and the sleepless, insanity-driven nights of the ARG had obliterated it - almost - entirely from my mind by the end. So nay, haven't given that one a try. :)
Also, much appreciated! But I can't in good conscience accept such praise, I, perhaps, have more spare time than others, but I'm by no means fast. ;)

On a side-note, considering this is part of a giveaway, would you rather I refrained from posting spoilers?

That's quite the reply you wrote there kek.

"In fact, the most rewarding "A-ha!" moments I've experienced, weren't when the next step was solved immediately. It was the times when we got stuck, and people started bouncing ideas off each other - sometimes for days on end."

That's what got me interested in ARG's yeah and also the reason why I enjoy making them. I love it when I see people break their mind on something you created (altho this doesn't seem to apply to you xd).

That said, Cicada 3301 started back in 2012, but is still going. People speculate that it's either a collective of government agencies recruiting new people and others think it's a group of hackers raking in new members.
Truly one of the hardest ARG's ever and after 2 year little to nothing is know about it.

As far as your spoilers go, "a select few" will have an advantage (those who read your post surely do ;)) but once that's done we make an official announcement for everybody to read, solved or not.
So I guess it's alright for you to spoiler here and there as not many people made the connections you already did.

    007 - Just for some http://steamcommunity.com/groups/iTraders#announcements/detail/175960340219293577
Guess you can pass on this one Santiak hehe.

    -

As expected only a few people managed to solve the 005/006 part (I take my hat off for thou).
I'm sure those people will get that advantage the closer we get to the end as they connect dots without us holding their hand.

This announcement is for those who are stuck, if you solved 005/6 on your own you probably won't need this 007.
