I was on alpha, not play Beta and I'm stucked on Chapter 1 (I wanted to redo all first mission to get basics but cant find it)

I'm suppose to plant a rootkit but I can't find how to use that function. Any help ?

oooh, i thought you said you were on the alpha, but this is actually a beta mission

also, installing rootkits is still the same as before;
you open foxacid, specify your target, select an exploit + delivery method, and choose the rootkit you wish to upload

aftermidnight is for getting access to their network, and assassin is for getting information for xkeyscore

 

I don't really understand. I use foxacid to acced to the VPN and get 5 nodes
It uses AfterMidgnight rootkit

But if i try to use Assassin rootkit it says "unable to install the rootkit", why ? It is still on VPN? Still on PHP703 ?

 

Assassin is used at other targets within the network.
Its specificly used for database-like targets

Just being connected to the vpn isnt enough to insert assassin, you also need to find the right vulnerable target inside that network
(And php7.0.3 is not such a target)

 

Mmmm just found www, mobile, intranet and VPN, and the 3 first are uptodate. I missed something. I'll recheck.

I have netscan the cracked server. I have digged the server paths. I don't understand how to get this information into the foxacid server so i can inject the assassin rootkit. Two are vulnerable. Not much else to go on, and not much info anywhere explaining this mechanic. I have looked everywhere and its driving me crazy, lol. Much help needed here. Please...

 

Im not sure the exact formatting, but for the target/url you use the networkpath you used to find the vulnerable technIque

I found the the 2 documents and can't seem to get anywhere from there.

I figured the next step would be to hack Timothy Benton or Annie Fischer to gain access to the intranet. However, the password hint doesn't lead anywhere with

The mobile.trentongenomics.com address got me banned. Unfortunately the window closed so quickly that I couldn't read the remaining time I'm banned.

Also, XKeyscoreForensics weirdly has the same content for both directories.

Tried it twice now, as my notepad cleared itself and I had to repeat to gather info outside of the game. Seems to be a bug, glitch or I found a feature haha

Yes. This is the first actual mission everybody will get when the game launches in 2018. We get to play ahead of time to test it out. It resets everytime you close the game and you get no rep.
