Have anyone heard of the new Christmas 2017 DLC? So, basically, I went on the Situation Room and found this "Rupture Radiation Detected". Upon clicking on it, it opened a tab to the link: https://clyp.it/sisao1um.
I haven't listened to it all yet but it seems to be Ex Oblivione by H.P. Lovecraft. EDIT: It's an almost word for word reading of Ex Oblivione except "Zakarion" is replaced with "Isis-Urania".
I noticed the change in the situation room as well. This seems like a repeat. I remember way back in the day, agents received a package with a usb drive. On that drive was a password protected zipfile which unpacked into this audio file. If I remember correctly the man reading the text is called Mr. Whitechapel. It's been a while so I am fuzzy on the details. Just recently came back to catch up on the DLC I missed. Glad to see I arrived at an exciting time
Ooh, i just remembered that there was this usb stick with the oblivion.zip file Thats why oblivion.mp3 sounded so familiar
I'm very excited about this! It's one of my first times doing one of these missions I don't have much to add, most of what I was going to say has already been said, but I look forward to working with you guys! As Walker mentioned, Zakarion is replaced with Isis-Urania, which has a link to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. That might be some kind of lead?
To remind everyone about Mr. Whitechapel (and possibly to prepare in advance). Mr. Whitechapel was first introduced in September 2014. https://forums.aliceandsmith.com/threads/actors-of-the-black-watchmen-universe-mr-whitechapel.175/. "A modern incarnation of Gilles de Rais – the soldier-in-arms of Joan of Arc, and later a serial killer who is so vicious and prolific the term might have been coined for him. His depravity is matched only by his intelligence, in a mind that has never been turned to the good of humanity." Also, it was stated that "Never forget that he is everywhere and he hears everything". Wonder what could that possibly mean?
That is an interesting choice of title... Lovecraft always thought of of oblivion and forgetfulness as a form of healing
And if Mr. Whitechapel is anything like historical killer who this name reminds me of, im talking about the infamous Jack the Ripper, than he may see murder and death as a form of oblivion
I saw the trailer while browsing the Steam store. I'm kind of excited for this since I missed the first two season of live events. Can't wait to experience TBW live!
I probably will. I entered my information to update my clearance level to yellow, so maybe I'll get to really get involved in these live events.
I'm exceptionally excited for the live event portion. Season 2 was a massive improvement over season 1, so I can't wait to see how they handle the event for this.
Hey Berenike, good question! So, the short answer: Yes, there will be normal missions, too. Longer answer: The live events are open to everyone, and since the live events sort of set up the plot for the in-client missions, usually how it works is that the DLC opens for purchase (or since this one is free, download) after the live event takes place.
It looks like it's being labelled as a Special Operation, so I'm guessing it would function similarly to Mother Russia and Alone in the Dark Web
its going to be both: ive been told that later this week a regular set of missions (special ops) will be released, and a week later there will be a live event regarding mr Whitechappel
Here's the official word on this: On the 15th, we are releasing the DLC (in-client missions) On the 20th through the 23rd, we are holding a live event So, on the 15th, you'll be able to start the missions, regardless of whether you plan to participate in the later live event.
Crap, I just checked and, even though I updated my info for yellow, I forgot to actually *select* yellow for my clearance level. IIRC, I did that in a previous season, too. :-/ Oops.
I've been away for quite some time so please tell me if I'm wrong. There seems to be a new tab with a pillar that has Nordic letter inscriptions on it. Is that about the new update or something that came when I was on hiatus?
