I enjoyed it. One thing that bit me repeatedly until I was in the middle of submitting a bug report and figured it out. Depeding on monitor resolution (and how old your eyes are), 8 and B look remarkably alike and this can lead to things not working that should. Keep up the good work! -- Seshemw
I agree, this mission and Adv. Mission 5 were the most fun to complete! Perhaps this is due to more familiarity/comfortability with the OS. I will also agree that 8 and B do look similar - not sure if it's the font or the fact that I have the text at it's lowest size setting, but I did run into some typo errors and noticed after the fact. Also ran into a couple small bugs, Spoiler Alex Morrow's first name does not register as correct in the Password Attack module variable list, thus was forced to leave it blank. Mr. Wong's Password Attack variable of his favorite band registers as correct with just entering in "fatty", which I am sure was not intended.
Spoiler: Regarding your second bug Idk, I think with the "fatty" variable, I think that people talking might refer to him as "Fatty" only. Like "Hey, did you see fatty's new album lately? It's good stuff!"
Aha, in that sense perhaps both variables should trigger as correct. I only was able to figure out 3/5 variables for this individual. Also found another bug: Spoiler If you successfully crack into a smartphone and shows objective completed and close out the game before doing all five phones, it will not register that you completed them once you log back in. I had to redo all five all in one session to trigger campaign complete message.
Still working my way through this mission, but here are some observations: Spoiler With reference to Orion's post, Mr Morrow's full first name works. One of Mr Wu's emails seems to have a different name mentioned however his age matches the target. Hacked all 5, but not complete? I must have done something wrong
I can't complete this mission Spoiler I've hacked all 5 mobile phones, but I don't know which URL I need to enter to start cracking password...
Spoiler Take another look at the network diagram for the mission - see what's the common link between all targets and where it leads.
Hack all 5 phones in the same session. If you close out the game client, I found it will not complete the mission. Also how did you get the full name to work? Spelling? Capitalization?
Theres two issues ive seen often with this mission; 1) mission progress resets when you leave the game (which is understandable, but not always obvious) 2) when youre using multiple password attacks on different targets (simultaneously) it sometimes only registers one completed attack, instead of two; meaning you might have to redo the attack; which is super frustrating cause it can take a lot of time if you dont know all the details about your target In response to mr morrows name; some people shorten their name because its easier; id rather be called Leo if my name was Leonard. The same goes for morrow (except ive forgotten where to find his official name)
Spoiler I'm stuck on variables for Dong Wu. I've got "Fatty Shady", "Hong Kong University" and "Chang Lee".
I noticed that also: Spoiler In one e-mail (5-year re-union for alumni) he is referred to as M. Gao instead of Wu... really threw me for a loop haha
I've noticed that when I try to hack Mr. Wu, the timer is going up EDIT: nevermind, just my imagination
ok, I've cracked two cell phones and i'm workingon Dong Wu's, but I've seen people mention emails and such, I've seen none so far. What am I missing? Ok, got his cell cracked....I've no clue where to go next as i'm kind of clueless
theres more to crack then just the cellphones Spoiler: target 1 you crack the cell phones to gain intel on your target; stuff they like and their possible usernames Spoiler: target 2 after you know your targets private life, you're going to crack their email account at their business office whatever Spoiler: super spoiler your graph only mentions three known targets, and two unknown targets; the unkown targets are mentioned in someones memos
So I just completed this mission the other day and it was by far my favorite. With all of the "investigating" and such it really made you feel that much more immersed into the game.
Search deeper into his cell. Spoiler there is a message/email on his phone i think from a family member stating she can't wait till he gets back from, or returns to a certain place. It's in chinese but a quick google search will tell you... but if you can't find it.. Spoiler Shenzhen I couldn't find the fifth variable. I thought it would be something to do with.. Spoiler his hiking trip, but i couldn't find any variable that worked. Then i thought about SHFT Fest (the night shift festival in shanghai) that is mentioned in his cell.. but again no correct variable relating to it - or at least i couldn't find one.
your first guess was correct Spoiler but you need to look for the area where his trip would be Spoiler the agency that organises those trips is in a very broad region, but if you look it up you can get a more specific area that will work for you
I tried.. Spoiler around 10 different hiking trails in atlanta.. what was weird is his cracked password was something like Spoiler FHCreek96 (not exact but similar) and i'm assuming the last variable was whatever that trail is. anyway i've cracked that one and onto more HVM missions now!
