As you know, HQ have been testing their upcoming client, aimed at increasing coherence and cooperation among their agents.

However, be it HQ testing us, or an outside force encroaching upon the client, recent developments within the client beg our attention.

Target can be found using the client found here(PC) or here(MAC), under the "Missions" tab (Star icon, 2nd from the left).
Please note that the client is still in early alpha stages.

As of 13:30 EST // 19:30 CET // 5:30 AEDT, HQ Confirmed that this is a mission.

What has been found so far:
The date (1927 - 2006) fits with the life of Robert Plutchik, a psychologist who namely studied Emotions, Suicide, Violence, and the Psychotherapeutic process.

It also appears to link to the image below the date, see below.
The image appears to be Robert Plutchik's "Wheel of Emotions", and the 4 yellow lines seem to cross over the green area denoted as "Terror".

Other people who were born and died on those dates:

Paul Ableman: Novelist and Playwright (mostly erotic, some nonfiction)
Otis Chandler: Publisher of the LA Times
Dan Curtis: Film director, particularly Burnt Offerings and Trilogy of Terror, horror films *
Friedrich Karl Flick: Richest man in Austria *
Coretta Scott King: Wife of Martin Luther King Jr
Phyllis Kirk: Actress, House of Wax (another horror film) *

    * potentially more significance than the others

Can you post a screencap (or screencaps)? I'm trying to figure out if I'm seeing everything I'm supposed to be seeing. (It doesn't seem like I am.)

Ok, thanks. Clicking it brings up a blank screen. I wanted to make sure there was nothing missing there. Well, missing for just me, at least.

For me the picture appears and then if I left click the screen goes black, if I left click again the picture appears again.
The image appears to be Robert Plutchik's "Wheel of Emotions", and the 4 yellow lines seem to cross over the green area denoted as "Terror". Oh... lovely.

    Nice.
    Nice.
    So we have
Robert Plutchik and his Wheel of Emotions, and 4 yellow lines, pointing out Terror.
There is not very much to do with these infos, i guess. Any ideas?

One avenue is, as pointed out by nikel, that we may have to find a unique use for the in-game browser, using the information we have.
As an example, I've already attempted to search for that particular person hinted at in the clues, by typing in his name in the in-game address bar - although it yielded nothing but a normal google search.

The clue is only present in the current build, it would seem. Loading up a previous build shows the old mission hub.

Anything you type in there will lead to a google seach it seems...

So I played with the levels a bit

Are those buildings in the background ? And there seem to be some red smudges on the left side. (Sorry if these were already there in the previous builds, just managed to test this one now)

Paul Ableman caught my eye with his novel "I hear voices." The question remains though if they will keep calling me... Ok last one I swear ;D

LOL, I just downloaded the client and Chrome/Kaspersky gave me this message:
"alpha-1.1.2.zip is not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous."
My thoughts? ... no kidding :)

click the little arrow on the right of the button that shows the file name and click "keep" on the menu that appears. Same thing happens to me every time I try to download a new client and this is what works for me

Ja, it is fine. I just thought it fun the rest of the world thinks it may be dangerous, too.

And, nice job on the image Balmoth.
With your rework those red splotches on the left look to me to be colouring on clothing of a woman. Of course this may be one of those things where you can see anything you want to if you look hard enough. 2014Dec01.jpg

    So. Here's what I've gathered.

With the combined dates of birth and reference to "terror," it seems to be pointing to Dan Curtis, who directed the Trilogy of Terror series.

More important, and possibly more relevantly for us, he was the creator of the Dark Shadows series - it had more episodes than pretty much almost every other sci-fi show in history.

It was able to achieve this by airing daily for nearly five years straight at 4PM EST.

Plus, observation about the client made by some of us:

We got curious about the layout of the control room, so we screenshotted the control room and compared. CLY in the IRC pointed out that the Joker video had been in a different location at another point in time (more to the left) - but they went back after mentioning this and it was the same as the other two screenshots given. They also pointed out difference in some other screens.

So I say what at least a few of us do is:

Tune into the control room at 4PM EST for some dark sci-fi.

There's at least one of these things, if not both, going on here:
    1. Timed clips.
    2. Live control of clips on screen.
And also the control room is essentially a bunch of TV screens.

I mean, hey, it'd be a clever way to test out a live-stream feature. :p

We're also working on listening if the clicking of the lights means anything, it sounds kinda... musical.

EDIT: On that note, if that fails, at least we can all complain about not getting anywhere together. Like one big frustrated ARG family. :3
