@Rhino @Inigo and I met up with @ScapeZero, solved the "hard" puzzle. Returned the documents to HQ, and received what seems to be an innocuous souvenir. HQ alledges that there was more information to be gathered from last nights mission. We reckon they refer to the name of the WC-4515. However upon calling the hotel, they had no information for us. We are open to suggestions
Cosidering the following line of the pastebin found by ScapeZero (http://pastebin.com/diff.php?i=YfpnkNab): "3 - First mention of drop on 02/25/2015. Intercepted message sent by email. Account tracked to subject’s office IP in Downtown Boston." And also cosidering the name of the pirvate investigator: Winston Chandler; there may be something worth checking. There is a Chandler Street in Downtown Boston, and there are several places that could be worth checking: 82 Chandler Street Bed & Breakfast 82 Chandler Street, Boston, MA 02116 - 617-482-0408 E-mail: [email protected] http://www.82chandler.com/ The Chandler Inn Boston 26 Chandler Street Boston, MA 02116 Phone: 617-482-3450 Fax: 617-542-3428 http://www.chandlerinn.com/ You can get there by bus, Line 9 https://www.google.com/maps/place/B...0x89e37a72f9bd1105:0x6ac62054eb3c31ce!5m1!1e2 Note: This is wild speculation so feel free to ignore it, but the "coincidence" is there.
We may have missed something last night. They said maybe we should have stuck around longer, they might just be trying to trip us up and make us second guess ourselves, or perhaps there was something we missed. Don't blame ya though Unmademan, you had a taxi, and you did get us the document, but if you want to investigate anything else, let me know, I'll join ya.
this is great! thank you all for this. tomkel5 and i could not make it to the Sunday pax. so i guess the question i have is... what now? are we looking for another "package"? if i were to pay a visit to either of the chandler inn/b&b what kind of information do i need to ask?
The only thing left is finding out the name of the client. However, it seems like we missed our chance: Nonetheless, if a were at Chandler Street I'd look for QR codes hidden somewhere and/or I'd ask the recepcionists of the hotels in that street if they know something about someone by the initials WC, someone called Winston Chandler and/or someone called Whitechapel. But I repeat this is pure imagination, nothing solid.
I just wanted to share a thought: Maybe you guys should have returned the doc to the concierge. We've likely aroused some serious suspicion by Whitechapel and his client -- not that we didn't already by lurking in the chat. The fact that we not just intercepted, but removed a doc from its transfer means that we might have some very irritated rivals in the future.
On the other hand, I kind of feel like we were meant to intercept this document. It was pretty clear that the channel was compromised (let's have a conversation with 20 random people here!) but WC-4515 insisted anyway. Just a thought.
Could be that Whitechapel hoped we'd see it, but at least leave it there so his poor client could see it as well.
Spoiler: Unused Information I was wondering how/where was the information regarding the IP being pin-pointed came to be? That area looks pretty innocuous. Has the boat sailed on all of this information? Im not above taking a drive.
Has this mission failed then, given that Pax has ended now? If not is it worth trying to contact the people mentioned in the document? Even if we can't contact them directly there may be some information to be gathered about our mystery investigator....
Technically they on twitter (@division66) said it was successful! I'm not saying there aren't repercussions for what the agents have and haven't done, but I think some mercy should be shown considering they're new... c;
The downside of multiple twitter accounts and early nights. I missed that tweet. So many feeds so little time Still a good result given the timeframe.
Per @ScapeZero's request: I have painstakingly documented the "reward" I received for bringing the documents to HQ. Please peruse for further clues, though my team and I feel as though there is nothing to gain. http://imgur.com/a/3KXAw#0
When we showed up at the booth, and presented the intercepted document, I remember the one who handed you the brochure saying that it is just a souvenir, and that there were no clues. Perhaps he was lying though... I will not be spending any more time than I already have spent on flipping through it.
It's just a souvenir as far as I can tell or the people from Boston who I sent it to, although to be fair, they got distracted to see that the wine festival was still going on. Everything seems legit and it's probably really just a pamphlet souvenir. I know I love collecting the pamphlets from the few places I get to travel to.
Careful, it's booby trapped. I looked through the images and some sort of mind control was exerted upon me, I've consumed 3 bottles of Merlot already!! It's a trap I tell ya!
I'm so late. It's all ground work now and you got what you need, i think. Have fun =) PS : Bring guns, just in case.
