Beta Virus?

Google Chrome reports "beta-3.0.5.zip is not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous" and Bitdefender Total Security 2015 reports a virus, when I try to unpack the beta zip file.

    Virus name "Gen:Variant.Kazy.559963"

If I ignore all this and try to run it on Windows 8, Windows 8 Smart Screen blocks it, because of malicious activity.

    Can you explain this?

Looks like they change it back, get the same problem.

We upgraded to Unity 5 and it looks like a lot of spyware are not up to date with the new engine. We are looking to retrograde to Unity 4.

Unless we're seeing different messages, Win 8 Smart Screen isn't blocking it because of malicious activity, but because it doesn't recognize the publisher. It looks like there's something wrong with the way the 3.0.4-5 clients are digitally signed (as opposed to 3.0.3 and before, which don't appear to have been signed at all).

We rollback to Unity 4, can you tell me if 3.0.6 still trigger false positive with your anti-virus?

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the feedback. So no dice for Unity 5. =( I'll report that in the Unity Support group. I guess I won't be alone!

I've always had chrome report the client as dangerous. I've only encountered additional pop ups in earlier builds though.

By the way is there anything that can be done about that warning? It could be a little off putting to some people.

Hi KLE! When the application will be signed, you should not received this warning anymore.

That's good to know. But now I'm wondering.... What exactly have you installed on my PC under the guise of a "game" ;)
