Greetings. I just downloaded the Alpha (2.0.7) and can't seem to login.

When I make the attempt it tells me "account could not be found".

Alright, I'll just create one. Try that. "Email already in use".

Well, fine, but if that's so, how do I find out what my name is so I can login? Or create a new one? I don't want to create a new email for this. What is the solution here?

The client has a separate account from the forums, and I believe until an upcoming version there's a limitation that you cannot use an email associated with another playfab account. When this is fixed all accounts will have to be recreated, as far as I know.

I'm having the same issue. Does that mean we are locked out of this phase of the alpha?
I really hope not. I've been out of the loop on this until I found it at PAX. :(

The problem Catalyst referred to is that PlayFab (which the client uses as a back-end) uses email addresses as unique account identifiers across all the games/programs that use it... So if you've already registered an account for another PlayFab game (Loadout and Planetary Annihilation are two of the bigger names, but they're also used by hundreds of casual/mobile games) and try to use the same email address to register for the TBW client, it'll tell you the address is already in use (despite the fact that you won't be able to use it to log in).

This is something that A&S has been working with PlayFab to address, and there's supposed to be a resolution in the works, but at least for the current alpha build (2.0.7) the problem remains.

If you (understandably) don't want to wait for it to be fixed, the workaround a lot of players have used is to just register using a different email address.

Thanks Bats. I went ahead and did that. It auto-set me to Cybertech, is that normal for this stage of testing? I tried to find a thread on it and didn't see one.

Classes and Clearence Levels are not yet implemented, so all agents are automatically set to Cybertech and Red Clearence level - but as such, it has no impact on your ability to play through the community missions available in the client. :)
