That's because Cicada didn't have the foresight to run a kickstarter. Their budget ran out after paying for the posters to be printed up at Kinko's and making a long-distance call to that one guy in Chile with the test tone (which he never even extracted the message from, lazy bastard). -Bats (but, in all seriousness, Cicada 3301 is amazing... and makes my head hurt)
