Second mission literally has audio with no subs, and I can't find any option to /get/ subs. I partly bought the game and saw a review in which devs were making it clear they were interested in the game being accessible... but... second mission? Seriously?
Hey, some of the missions do have an audio component without subtitles. I'd be happy to provide written transcriptions of those components to you, if you want.
My issue is that the store says it has subs, which the mission does not. To me that is misleading. Plus they fell all over this guy about wanting to make the game more accessible, let them know which missions weren't and they'd look into fixing it, etc etc So I'm trying to figure out how they say all this, advertise as having subs, and then don't even have subs on a training mission.
I understand your frustration, trust me. I've been trying to have subtitles added to content that's missing them for a while now. It's a lot of work and manpower to do that, however, and A&S is juggling about a billion projects at any one time (from what I can discern), and they're not a huge game studio. Like I said, I'd be happy to provide you with subtitles for the assets that lack them.
Well, no, that isn't what was advertised, and it isn't what they told a deaf guy on steam, and if they were going to spend a hot minute pretending to care, then how do you not have at least the training missions or the first season handled. It's actually /not/ a lot of manpower, and I've played games like this before and they have no issue making it work. Also, what you are offering is transcription, and if I'm going to need that regularly then the immersion is wrecked. Which brings me back around to, "Why are you marking your game as having subtitles in the store if this is not true?" Either do the subs, or remove the misleading information from Steam.
And if you're wondering why I'm making a fuss, it's because this is really common and I've gotten tired of just returning games and going on my way. Look, if you don't want to commit to subs, that is fine. I've addressed this with a dev on a different game (I think the lone person who worked on the game) and they removed the 'subtitles' checkmark from their page and that was fine with me. I'm looking for accountability and truthfulness. You can't have it both ways.
I played TBW almost completely without sound, except for one or two missions that required it... every other mission intro had subtitles
I'll bring it up with the dev team again, I'm really sorry that you're frustrated about this. There's probably two missions in the entirety of season 1 that aren't subtitled, and the reason for that is the missions are about listening and transcribing. To have subtitles on those two missions takes away a mechanic from those puzzles, and they're fully transcribed here on the forums (usually multiple times).
