Sorry to bring this thread back up from way back in March of 2016... but the snake has escaped again. I took in Mary after the DARKAVALON incident, as there wasn't anyone else to look after her. She's a test specimen but had become a bit more of a pet. I don't think she's intentionally escaped, I think she might be lost in HQ-- she goes for 'walks' sometimes (more like 'slithers') and the recent remodeling in G Wing may have been enough to get her turned around. I'm providing a description to help identify her if you see her, although I doubt there are many snakes wandering around HQ.

MISSING SNAKE - ANSWERS TO MARY
Black w/ two tan stripes near base of head
Approximately 4 feet long, weighing 4-5 pounds (depending on how recently fed)
Very intelligent, able to read and write as well as speak limited amount of English language
Venomous, but not much of a biter.

Please let me know if you see her!

I'm sorry we have to go through this dance again, but congratulations on having taught 'her' to speak?
I advice every agent with some 'slight aversion toward snakes' to hide in a cooled area (slightly freezing)
Agents without this issue are advice to create some sort of a heat beacon to lure Mary towards a warm area (not to hot obviously)

good luck, ill stay in the Labs for the time being

She sorta picked it up on her own. She's a very smart snake.

yeah, Middipper mentioned she had the intellect of a four year old?
(please let it still be a four year old...)
Also, this might be entirely irrelevant, but i she still swearing?
i believe someone taught her some words last time she went on a hike.

That would account for the swearing and cries for mommy I heard from one of the storage rooms near Xenogenomics lab B. That was a bit ago and it was gone when I went back to check, but that means she shouldn't have strayed too far from G wing yet.

Yes, she's still swearing. A lot. Thanks, @Castilion. Her intellect is closer to an 8 year old at this point, she's been developing pretty quickly. @LionOfComarre if you hear or see her again, can you send me a message? She's probably going to get hungry soon.

What does she eat? Anything we could use to lure her?

Nothing we could use to lure her....

....the intellect of an eight year old....
she grew that much smarter in a year?
if we catch her, please try to let her know that its very dangerous outside.
i wouldnt want to see what she might do next year when she possibly has the intellect of a twelve year old...

if thing are going this way she might actually be able to outsmart us; and with that i mean all of humanity, not just a few select people-who-i-wont-call-by-name-right-casstillion

Well, unless there's some occult stuff involved there'll be some limitations imposed on her potential by her cranium size. Then again, if she just keeps growing as well that could be a problem in more ways than one.

I'm really not sure if there's anything occult going on with her or not. Physically, she shouldn't be able to speak English. But, I think the only reason she doesn't do it more often is she finds it boring. She grows really fast-- last year at this time she was around a foot long, maybe a little under. But, really... I'm getting worried. She hasn't been away for this long before, so I'm concerned she might have gotten stuck somewhere at this point. Can everyone poke around their workspaces and see if they spot her/hear her?

if we were looking for a cat, dog or even a bearwolf, i couldve suggested we try to scan with IR camera's or something... but why do snakes have to be coldblooded...
and sorry, but no way im going to put my hand in places that i cants see, until we find mary

If it makes you feel any better, we do have an antivenom if she bites you. But like I said, she's not much of a biter. And try to let someone know as soon as it happens, the venom is pretty fast acting.

oh right.. i actually had forgotten she was venomous... this doesnt help your case.
yeah sure, i wouldnt mind talking to her for a bit or whatever, but im not touching her, if i cant look her in the face(-ish.. whatever)

    Hey Codex,

I saw something moving around in the rafters down in the loading bay the other night. I didn't get a good look at it though as the lights all hang down past a certain point. I did let the docking staff know but they may not have given it a second thought. They said they'd look into it and i shrugged it off. Good luck ether way.

I'll send over some antivenom just in case.

    "AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"
(high pitched screaming, coming from the Micro-C labs)

... Now might not be a good time to mention that @LionOfComarre actually returned Mary to me a couple days ago. If there's a snake in Micro-C, it's not her.
