A vacuous dream

I had a very different dream last night. A thrilling, terrifying, how-do-I-even-begin-to-explain kind of dream. As always, I followed the four steps to start my journey, spoke the mantra, and this time, I was met immediately with nothing.

In the beginning, there was nothing: absence and void. Yet, there was also a presence. I am not, nor will I ever be, alone again.

I pushed upwards from the suffocating nil until my thigh brushed against an unknowable window. Seeking freedom, I crouched and crawled through and the emptiness was replaced with a tall ship. The emerald sea responded to the sun by casting sparkling bice brilliance towards our helm. There, I stood hand-in-hand with my betrothed—adrenaline still flowing freely in my veins—as we watched the eight vibrant ships ahead of us glide towards the prismatic horizon.

I take it you were lucid. So there were 9 ships counting yours... that number has come up recently.
