[net]can`t Download Video Before Every Mission

Hi,developers:
I like this game,this game is cool~
but I local in China,too far from game data server?
Every time before mission, I stuck in loading mission video(In Setting I had turn to 25%,but there is no option to pass this video)
Now I in mission 5,I can`t loading video completed,I can`t go on to play.
In misson 4, picture can be download slowly,but sound can`t loading,so my only way is finding the answer from others,I dont like pass game in this way...

May I wait server became faster or just give up this game take back my money(i don`t lke).

sometime download is ok,ping is still high.

 

Hi there. I did some research and found out that the video files around 12 megabytes (well i downloaded mine via 100%)
If you want (and with @Anashel permission) i could do you an private repo for you, where you can get the videos saved up to your local machine.

 

Are the files hosting on Amazon S3 server? I've heard that the connection from China to Amazon S3 is extremely slow (maybe due to the great firewall of China).
My ping is always >220ms from Hong Kong, it usually takes 5-6 secs to download the video but it never stuck in loading.



@wildcat In case it's related to Amazon S3, are you using any software to bypass the great firewall? I've read someone suggested to add s3.amazonaws.com to the PAC list in the software, it greatly improve the speed.

 

Well up on some research, i found that the videos are played by the Unity browser in the game. And the load times were huge even for me since it downloads the whole video first to cache and plays it from there.
After getting direct links to videos, i tried to get them via chrome and they came in super fast.
So the problem might be in with the Unity itself :/ (as seen with the browser in-game which was around year ago)
Is there anyway to change ingame videos to use something different or like encrypt the videos inside to the game so they can be played w/o streaming them? It would just make the game bigger to download from steam (around 1-3 gig by my estimate) but that should be worth it... Right?

 

Huh. That is odd (hate to argue but...)
My Web Debug says that the video plays after it gets HTTP code 200 from the site it and then game starts to play it.
And after that its done, you watch it again and it gets you it instanly. I can send you some research material i got

maybe I can help to upload to BAIDU cloud(a online disk) ,help others like me to download.
if in game there is a brower link let player download themselives，will help？

Hello all.

I'm currently trying to get an server up to China so the players from there can hopefully get videos from there and not go past the Great (fire)Wall of China.

Semi working on the workaround on the video issue. Got an idea. It works in theory, but what about in action

There is another idea:
if game has a folder,player can download video/picture file and put into there(or first time download,files will always there),when playing game will read this folder first instead of get video/picture files from net.
