Just something interesting I thought I'd share! So yesterday I went out Geocaching (in short, a hobby where you go out and find boxes using GPS) and I stumbled across a mysterious looking sign in a forest. I wasn't sure what to make of it, so I took a photo and told myself I'd investigate later. I didn't notice it back then, but there's definitely the year 1774 and it looks like the initials JU and a picture of gallows. Doing a Google search bought me to this site: http://www.mysteriousbritain.co.uk/england/west-sussex/hauntings/jack-uppertons-gibbet.html Apparently a Highwayman, Jack Upperton, was captured and killed near the woods I was in, and it was his "gibbet" that I stumbled across. My favourite part is "Uppertons Gibbet can be found (not very easily I might add)"... I managed to find it without even meaning to! Anyway, an interesting read and possibly something I'll use in a sandbox at some point
Freaky, it does look like someone turned a one into a four-per the woman's comment at the end. Would have been nice to see the pictures, but looking forward to your sandbox!
Haha, I just thought it was a weird looking sign! Never would've thought I'd found where someone was hung
