Locked Out Of Micro-c...

Like most of you guys know, Middipper was in charge of Micro-C labs, but since she's gone, i want to take things over, but there is a slight issue concerning the security...
Middipper had some security protocols installed, so that the access codes would change every week.. she was the only one who had access to them and would only send out the new code a few days before the change.
knowing how paranoid cautious she was, i dont think she has the codes accessable from outside the micro-c labs... i dont even think the locks are accessible from the outside...
does anyone have any clue on how to get past those doors, without destroying them?

teleportation would be the simplest, though im not sure I would do that...given the level of trapped security she has.

you mean we got the tech actually working? i thought there were still too many bugs in the system...
and yeah, knowing middipper she probebly has some signal jammers installed so we cant teleport in there

i was talking magical teleporting. but the tech should be some kind of working.

i guess magical teleportation might be an option; i dont remember any symbols/glyphs/runes in the lab that would ward against those.
but before testing it, i suggest we first try scrying the labs to find any suitable place for 'landing'? if the scrying wont work, we at least know for certain the labs been warded.

I would try a séance to commune with MidDipper and find a way to access the lab, or start from scratch-there are a lot of empty labs in the sub sub basement. And not all of them are infested with reanimated tissue samples, some aren't even occupied by goetic demons.

if you want to risk a scéance, please be my guest; but remember that strong spirits with unfinished businesses are likely to takeover your body... and middipper had loads of projects going on...
and moving on to another lab just wont feel right... starting over would mean abandoning years of experimenting, which is something we cant afford right now, and dont forget about Mary; she must be starving over there.

    All good points...

Mad, I'd actually suggest one of the ones with the goetic demons. reanimated tissue is just annoying. at least the demons can be...well...bound, in certain ways to help, the tissue you've just got to purge.
We've got a few over in our department, experimenting with weapons and increases in magical power. plus all those off-site labs and centers... I think we've got a different power source for each one. they've all got some kind of differing spirits working there as well.

okay, i think ive made some progress with some of the access codes.
i collected some of the previously used access codes from different employees and am trying to find the method that was used to create them.
i believe the codes are based on the activation date, and some personalised encryption...
for those interested; scrying only works to the outer walls of the labs, meaning middipper most likely warded the labs...

and TMH: i'd appreciate it if you could try to collect some of those reanimated tissue samples and temporily store them in one of the freezers. since MIcro-C labs are not yet available you could try to store them in in the freezers in storeroom B4-32? its on the floor directly below Micro-C. i had those emptied not that long ago. (please make sure that they are carfeully contained though.. we dont want them to get out of there)

I'll send some interns to corral them into that freezer. I cant promise there wont be a little damage, but I will promise that it'll get done.
use of magical and technical restraints is standard procedure. might have them go corral a lone goetic as well, I could use a new demon.

of course she warded it. the entire building is covered in wards and sigils.

i believe i have cracked the codes for the labs, meaning we've regained access. when i've reprogrammed the security system i will send out new acces-codes.
i'd like to apologize for the longer access code and the inconvenience for not being able to use the labs for these past few weeks. Miss Amelia Dyer, our administrative assistent, has been informed of the current encryption; this is a precaution so that the labs wont become inaccessible if i were to disappear for any reason.

Grim-Angel, if you have the time, would you be able to help me locate and identify any wards around the labs, so that i have a better understanding of what kinds of barriers middipper has pulled up, around here?

Zaelong, I'll pencil you in between a thorough hard drive binding and new orientation for a group of new hires. they just arrived, and at least 4 of them is looking more than the normal amount of lost and confused.
Perhaps you could give them a short explanation of what the biolabs do here, so they can be aware of the relationship between the departments?

as the term 'biolab' implies, we are a branch of researchers for all that is organic in nature. Though Micro-C originally focused its research on micro-organisms.
one of our projects focussed on improving the ability to dissolve 'live' in specific organisms in certain bacteria, so that they could be used as a weapon against 'zombies'.
there might also have been some research regarding the BDNF gene, the one resulting in 'psychic powers'. however due to the nature of this project i cant share any further details, mostly because i cant find any of them...

Thank you, now onto our next part of the tour, the goetic archives, where all your demons come to life.
By the way, Middipper set up at least a few high level wards, both in certain offices and labs. I'll point them out and scribe them down to give you a small reference of what's where. cant dispel them completely though. mostly due to Middipper's own changes to the formula.

dont worry about dispelling them, i figured it'd be better to keep most of the existing security in place. it helps keep certain unwanted things outide (or inside for that matter)

fair enough. might make an adjustment to the permissions in the wards for you and myself. because that would be important.

wasn't there some kind of arcane incident a couple months back? my assistant gave me a report from while I was gone and I'd like to look into it, if I may. The new hires are fine by the way, they made it through with only one possession between the lot of them! the interns however...well, they corralled the sample, but one was lost on the way back from the goetic hunt. I've already informed the family of their loss.

Hey Grim, while you're here can you check out my hoodie? The warding glyphs I had sewn in seem to be a bit screwy. Passing by Micro-C was rather...kinetic...

sure castilion, I can take a look at them. maybe the wash or something else caused the stitching to move. im sure its a quick fix
