On February 9, 2016 a hacker group posted top secret information about several government contacts, prompting the FBI to take offensive action. This ongoing war between the hacker group and the FBI is affecting one of our communication channels: Cryptobin. Several missions will currently be unavailable for our agents to complete including Mission 14, 15 and 23 of Season 2. We are working on alternatives and plan to have a solution set up shortly. We will update you as soon as we have new information on the matter.
The issue here is that only allows the encryption be only up to 6 months on the site and plus it's a third party. On the IRC there was discussion about not using 3rd party anymore due to this recent FBI stuff. I have posted @Anashel an close enough script which can be run on game's own server or do they think of something else.
Didn't notice the six month limit... good eye. Guess on a public forum like that there would always be the risk of someone ruining it for the rest of us. Spoiler On a different note-can't you do mission 23 without cryptobin? You wouldn't be able to check your answer first, but it is possible if I remember right.
if i remember correctly, the azuro's missions are all two-parters; first you must figure out the link and pass and then solve the research part he asks of you ie identify this man. the latter part has to be inserted into the client; so as of yet. we are too reliant on cryptobin....
Spoiler Currently the latest missions sets are using cryptobin to make mission go forward. To my knowledge, there is no so called "backup" in place yet EDIT: @crux from dev team told in IRC that an encrypted PDF system will be placed while they are trying to make an better solution for the future missions. PDF system will go live today or early tomorrow
Might have found an workaround for it. Please wait for confirmation... Confirmed. Workaround: Change the cryptobin.org domain to https://151.236.7.117 and ignore the SSL warning. Then you can use cryptobin w/o issues Just add the document ID after the IP and it will work Proof Spoiler Proof of real cryptobin IP
Great work, tried that on Wed. after reading an article saying it was the only way-but I did not have the last number. Didn't think to dig further. Good job. http://www.sfchronicle.com/business...alleged-FBI-and-Homeland-Security-6821472.php
I don't think that way will be usable for much longer and discourage others from using it. Cryptobin is definitely being monitored at this point and if a different group attempts to use it for similar purposes it will likely be taken down permanently, if the process hasn't already begun. We can't be reliant on this site.
All the missions containing Cryptobin links have been replaced with encrypted PDF's stored in the Archive. Affected missions should now be able to be completed by accessing these encrypted PDF's. Image puzzles have been changed to reflect this. Please let me know if any of the puzzles are not working as intended.
The cryptobin.org links I could find in the available sandboxes were changed to working cryptobin.co links. If anyone finds a link that is still a broken cryptobin.org link, please let me know and I will update it or get in touch with the author to request modified content.
Cryptobin.co is down as "server took to long to respond" - is there anyway I can access this file, without using cryptobin.co? (for Operation Hidden Crescendo, eye of the turtle)
Hi! I'm looking into that mission and will let you know when we've patched up a solution. Thanks for letting us know about the new cryptobin outage!
It looks like they have added cryptobin.co and cryptobin.jp to the block, time to ditch it for good-if I am reading the data right.
It appears that cryptobin.co is working again, for now it looks like you'll be able to complete the mission. We're going to continue working to build in some redundancy for the sandbox missions that currently rely on cryptobin.
I've seen your ability to contact people to recover or change a Username. My E-mail address is locked in there somewhere and I can't remember the name I signed on with. Anything you can do?
