This is advance notice that I will be periodically visiting the base next year. I'll be bringing some of our more advanced and obscure weaponry for our security personnel to train with in case of another catastrophe, although this'll be open to a limited amount of personnel with proper clearance and no active reprimands on their records. Weapons covered range from nonlethal options such as the Taser Sniper, to weapons capable of taking down astral threats, such as the VMR mk2 "Ghostkiller" rifle.
I have a functional amount of experience with the XT-290 "Liquid Nitrogen Dispersal Unit". AKA Icethrower. I've also a larger amount of experience watching idiots forget to put the oxygen mask on and end up passing out while spraying liquid nitrogen in training room. Everyone wants to be Mr. Freeze but nobody wants to mess up their 'style.' I could use some brush-ups on the thing though. Have the techs lightened the backpack on it yet? The tank of oxygen and the tank of nitrogen do add up.
I'd like to apply to work under you in the arsenal, Treble - if you're not on base 24/7, someone has to be in charge of cataloguing and maintenance. Otherwise we'll be left up the creek without a fully automatic, recoilless paddle when the para-nasties come flooding through the gates. I've got a significant amount of weapons training from my last military posting, but nothing close to any of the arcane weapons we've got locked in that room. And I don't think anybody else particularly wants to get stuck in with the weapons - except maybe the Dylans but you can hardly trust them, can you?
Some terminology clearing up: "The Arsenal" refers to the site that I manage off base, which houses most of our non-astral/psionic/anything the Archives wants to get into weapons projects, as well as some of our more sensitive stuff. On site is typically referred to as "The Armory". Assuming you want to stay on base, you could request transfer to it. Gregori is currently in charge of that, although he rarely interacts with the typical agent, he's more of the guy who watches the heavily guarded stuff there and handles emergencies when I'm not available.
Treble, im going to need a couple of my research staff taught in the astral weapons category. they've been hired on since I've been away and weren't taught the proper ghost killing procedures. they keep thinking its something they've seen on tv, and well, the clean-up is a bit...messy. I should really look at the standards and regulations manual for A:R&D. They should know we have weapons capable of downing specters and should know the proper way of binding and banishing.
