Don't get me wrong, I like the logo but I cant help myself but looking at the logo in those KS updates and noticing a strong resemblance with the Ingress (an already persistent ARG) logo. http://gyazo.com/c533622fbde3cc219fe46b381e921d76 vs http://gyazo.com/b39e3325c337ba3b3d847546a0831297 Not sure if that's a smart thing as you don't want people to mistake your logo, flyers/posters for Ingress's.
When has the Illuminati symbology gotten not good though? (Is symbology even a word? Iunno) Just like the symbol for medicine, there's meaning behind the symbology, but then there's recognizable meaning behind known symbology.
It has similarities but I don't think people will be confused. But then again I often do give the interwebs more credit then it deserves
They don't seem too similar to me, but I don't know anything about Ingress. It looks like they both used a triangle aesthetic but went about it in different ways that can't really be called copying or plagiarism.
I didn't mention it regarding copyright, but rather because Ingress is an ARG going on from 2012. My concern is that people will see the flyers/posters and some of them will pass on the spot, thinking it is Ingress.
I wasn't referring to copyright either. They both take aesthetic from the triangle or Illuminati. If somebody thinks they're the same because of a common shape and doesn't bother to research that this is, in fact, another ARG, then are they really right for an ARG to begin with?
So I was saying..ohwell at least it looks slick. Being reminded of an app in that they're both ARGs doesn't mean they are mistaking it for Ingress. The person in that log doesn't state what about it reminded them of Ingress either.
My point was that people might get reminded of Ingress due to the Kickstarter logo. Which indeed was the case with my mate, like he said I talked about TBW for several months to him. But now that the new logo popped up all of a sudden it reminded him of Ingress, which it never did before. I believe you will miss out on potential Agents simply because they see a logo on some flyer and think, "oh that's Ingress, that didn't interest me" and therefor don't pay further attention, and surely not try to solve the QR codes etc which is sad cause they do look great.
Yes, I know what your point was. My point is that it will happen with anything that has that aesthetic. The first jump is "Illuminati", usually. If somebody has no intent to actually look into an ARG because of what you claim then it's not worth losing sleep over. ARGs involve research. If they aren't going to do that then they aren't going to have fun with much ARGs anyway.
Agreed, but if they had experience with Ingress in the past, and disliked it. They could potentially pass on this one, while they might actually love it. I'm not concerned about people who arn't up for ARG's, I'm concerned about NOT getting those people in who DO care.
