Just something I thought would be handy would be an app to access the TBW game client and mission dashboard on phone or tablet, so we can puzzle solve on the go. Any thoughts on the feasibility of necessity of this? Or at least a way to solve missions outside of client.
I've actually thought about this myself. The problem is that a mobile game interface is very different from a desktop interface. They'd have to restructure the whole client to do this. Also, since steam's api and mobile store apis are very different, they'd have to write a whole new stack of license validation for each mobile platform they release for. As awesome as a well done mobile TBW would be. I think it wouldn't work very well with the size of their team. There are still way to many things to figure with the main client. In terms of anything non-desktop to do in terms of accessing the game on a tablet though would be a web client. But I guess they don't have the capacity to do that. Especially since chrome now blocks the unity plugin they'd have to rewrite the game in client-side JavaScript to archive compatibility with all browsers.
(Ok... if this is in the wrong place, just let me know and I'll put it in another place) Ok, so I was thinking... Why doesn't The Black Watchmen have a mobile app? The basic premise of the game could easily be translated to an app, and it would be nice to be able to play it 'on the go,' where it'd be inconvenient to play on a laptop/desktop. Even if its not that simple, why not a companion app? You could make your own official agent's card, access the archive and forums easily, quickly, and better-looking than on a typical phone internet app, get messages direct from HQ (Division 66), including Live Events, and/or play some interesting minigames. Just a thought...
Hey W01FSBAN3! It's a great suggestion and indeed it is in our backlog to create a companion app. We just lack the manpower for now. I'll keep this thread updated if anythings change with the companion app status.
