A portrait of famous haiku poet Matsuo Basho, born Matsuo Kinsaku (松尾 金作)
      1644.
Furuike ya The ancient pond —
Kawazu tobikomu A frog jumps in,
Mizu no oto The sound of the water.
      1686 (rough english translation)

This is his most famous poem, the Frog Haiku.

Indeed. It's largely considered to be the starting point of "everyday" haiku, and the type of haiku we know today, that often revolves around depicting "slices of life", centered around nature.

It is, unfortunately, not the answer to the latest (3rd) puzzle. But nice work either way. ^^

My answer is actually "Kinsaku". This is incorrect as well?

Ah, sorry - missed the ":" part. :)

Yes, unfortunately that is not the answer either.

What it is, is: "A portrait of famous haiku poet Matsuo Basho. © The Basho Museum, Koto ward, Tokyo", possibly sampled from http://web-jpn.org/kidsweb/cool/12-12/index.html
But what the answer is, I would guess is more like there is no answer but that there is reason for contemplation and insight, much like what good haiku tries to instill in the reader.

I am afraid there is a specific answer to be found.
