Note to Moderators: For some strange reason I can't reply in this thread http://forum.blackwatchmen.com/index.php?threads/concerted-advertisement.44/ that's a reason why I'm making this a new thread, but feel free to move it if needed. So... I decided to begin an email chain to try to lure someone and may be expand the visibilty of The Black Watchmen around me since as you can see here https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=zy4RwNBGMPtQ.kI-9NbZ6ZdJo I'm a lonely point in a medium size country (hint: Spain) But before releasing the email into the wild I want to first share it with you. So if you want/can give me feedback in order to enhance it I'd be grateful Also you can recycle the idea and try to make your own email chain, maybe a little email flooding give us a push in Kickstarter. The original email is in Spanish so I post here the traduction: Subject: The Black Watchmen - Between Fiction and Reality lies the exhilarating Fear of the Unknown Body: First of all: No, this is not spam, I'm <issuer email>, the original issuer, trying to disclose a work in progress. Secret Societies, Paramilitary Phantom Agencies, Exotic Artifacts, Lovecraftian references, Dark Riddles ... The Black Watchmen is a PARG currently in a state of fundraising. PARG stands for Permanent Alternate Reality Gamer. To give you an idea, according to Wikipedia: "An alternate reality game (ARG) is an interactive networked narrative that uses the real world as a platform and uses transmedia storytelling to deliver a story that may be altered by players' ideas or actions." At this point, if you're not interested in participating in something that is sure to become something more than a game, something that will test your wits and your sanity, you can delete this message and forget what you saw. Are you still reading? Good, then let me tell you my experience with this group, I'll try to be brief: I've seen what these people are capable of, if you ever liked puzzle or riddle games... what The Watchmen Black gives you is the next level. I have tried their puzzles and riddles, and I can assure you that I have never seen anything like them before. When you think that all the pieces fit and that you've solved the mystery, an even deeper and darker mystery appears. But we are not alone on this journey, there is a whole community of players willing to work toghether and spend sleepless nights unraveling the most twisted puzzles. If you want to know more you can check the links below. And if you are interested you can support the project on Kickstarter. If you are not interested, I would humbly ask you to send this email to everyone you know that you think might be interested or may know someone who could be interested. love this e-mail, I'm alone in my country too, so I am willing to use your e-mail and to send it to few ofmy friends
It looks really good, but the "No, this is not spam" part made me chuckle. That is what all the spam emails tell me. It might get some people intrigued though and we need the curious types who like investigating stuff, because they are the ones who are most likely to throw their money at the screen.
Glad to read Exactly. I had my doubts about adding "No, this is not spam", but in the end I thought it would catch the attention of the reader.
Really cool idea. I'll see with our technical teams if we could find a way to map out the current agent per country so you have and idea of who is teaming up. So far I have this: TOTAL CITIES: 326 Breakdown per countries / cities: Google Spreadsheet
16h on the forums, indeed... =) I don't know if your the only one from Lower Sackville, but it's a safe guess indeed.
Is that even possible? O: My hours are split up over a whole bunch of towns but they don't even come close! XD
Verizon's probably messing with it, my hometown should be way higher than my place of work at the very least.
IP tracing stuffz never list my hometown. Right now it's on Amsterdam, but Nijmegen, Etten and Breda have also been listed before (actually most of these locations at some point XD). Amsterdam is way off though. I am not even in Noord Holland (or Zuid Holland).
Thanks And a map of agents locations sounds great. Although GeoLocating IPs could be bit tricky depending on the traffic in the core of Internet. For example, according to the spreadsheet, under the Spain label: Mostoles 4:20:26 <- This is me But: Girona 4:10:29 <- 700 Km from where I live Almeria 0:04:28 <- 500 Km from where I live So... unless there's some other agent spending the holidays in Spain, I suspect my ISP is playing around with my dynamic IP
I've just sent the mail to all of my contacts. I added links to the Steam Greenlight page and all the Social Medias. I hope someone will hear my call *fingers crossed*
