It's no secret a Green level op is coming up. And I don't want to finish it, then have a bunch of people come to be with good ideas of things I should have done.

So, I'm opening the forum now, I want Green missions to be as much a community mission as it is a green agent mission. I want you all there every step of the way, and pre-planning is probably the most important step. If anyone has ideas for anything, from gear to tactics, let me know and I'll try to incorporate them.

In all honesty, yeah. I think the best thing to do to make it a much of a community event as possible is just to keep in touch as much as possible. We don't know how things are gonna work here, so it's kinda hard to pre-plan. Gear depends on the nature of the mission. Probably the best is to look as inconspicuous as possible, and just bring what's necessary. You wrote the guide on field work yourself, after all. Tactics, again, we won't know until the mission comes along. Either way...good luck, man. We'll be rooting for you.

The one thing I'm going to say is: get awesome footage.
We've been throwing the idea around for a community-made trailer for a while now. We got Nuage to film some stuff during his visit to Paris, and we're telling any other Agents who do stuff in the field to record it.
You've already got a GoPro so you know what to do ;)

Other than that, yeah, what the others have said. Keep in touch with us, and enjoy yourself!

I'll keep the gopro on for nice high def action, and periscope on my phone for live communication. With any luck, they'll have cameras as well.

Inconspicuousness is always good, though if I come across a secluded area or not-public-place I have to go in, I may dress up a bit for the sake of the trailer.

Hope that there's cell coverage in that area, but yes keep in contact, and like the others have already said, record and document as much as possible. Not only for the trailer for season 2, but because our last huge one was April 2014, and it is what got a lot people interested in us to begin with, and I believe all we had at the time was still photos of that event, it will show folks that we are more than just a enter your answer in the box game.

Maybe some of these things are self-evident, maybe not, so i will just tell you what i would bring for gadgets:

Bring a power pack or two. Nothing worse than to loose contact to your backup (and us) because you run out of power on your smartphone. Use an in-ear speaker and mikrophone to keep your hands free if needed. Bring a paper notepad an pencil, a small flashlight, maybe an UV light, a swiss army knife is handy too, and of course a roll of duct tape. A few glowsticks will illuminate an area for some time and can be thrown. And dont forget to take something to eat and drink with you, you never know how long the mission will be.

It sounds like you have tech & connectivity handled. Given all the suggestions for equipment, and the obvious... I suggest it all fit in one carry-on size duffel or soft backpack, especially if travel is involved. Any more stuff than that becomes a lot of stuff to keep track of. If you don't know the details about when & how it will happen, this go-bag should be always packed & ready - just tell the kidnappers your towel and your medication is in there and they'll have to bring it. If something doesn't fit in the bag, you prolly don't need it as bad as the stuff you'd have to take out.

And be sure to pack an extra set of underclothes for when it gets awesome scary

Pack a snack and 50 bucks cash in a mix of change, ones, fives, and tens. I like to keep a few chewy granola or powerbars in my backpack and a water bottle that I top off regularly.
Nothing makes friends like a spare bic lighter and nothing will make you curse harder than forgetting a swiss army knife or a leatherman.

Dont forget the wrench, the lighters and the gasoline. ;)
Other than that, I think everything will be fine as long we have a reliable way to communicate with you.

The gear I took with me in Paris last week end for the mission : sporty clothing for max freedom of movement, running backpack with spare clothing (different, in case you need to loose a tail), lockpicks (not sure if legal in Canada, totally legal in France), UV flashlight, regular flashlight, sports gloves, latex gloves and paracord bracelet. If I had time to prepare more, I would have taken zip plastic bags too.

The more you rush, the more you look suspicious.
    Pay attention without being paranoïd.
